> 24 hourI initially had purchased the steel, long version of these. Thye worked very well, but were not good for carrying on the bike when touring (which was my intent). These aluminum ones are what I should have bought in the first place. They are short enough and light enough to stow easily. The steel ones will stay in the garage, and these will go with me when I travel. They very easily break the bead, which is often the most difficult part of changin/repairing tires by hand. Highly recommended.

> 24 hourI have two sets of these - one on my Adventure Motorcycle and one in my Fanny Pack on the dirt bikes. They were great for breaking the bead on the trail side as well as in the garage. Had to swap out a tube on my Adventure motorcycle in the woods and this tool help we do it in 30 minutes. Light weight and strong. I highly recommend them.

> 24 hourThese are my first tire spoons. I have never tried to remove or install tires before. Bought these for the bead breaking feature, which worked flawlessly. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have gotten longer tire spoons. Just for reference, I was attempting to remove my 2009 Sportsters front tires (Metzler 880). Removing the tire from the wheel was easy enough. Installing on the other hand was not. Once you get to the last 1/4 of the tire installation, you run into the weak point of the spoons. They are just too short to get any leverage. I had to get my girlfriends help to complete the job. Side note. I have heard that Metzlers have one of if not the hardest sidewalls. Making it more difficult to install. Pros: Bead breaker Lightweight Cons: Not long enough (not enough leverage)

> 24 hourThese are not long enough to break bead or remove tires from a cruiser bike.

> 24 hourDidn’t know there was a difference between the two styles and these aluminum ones are SHORT. If you need ones that actually work for anything bigger than a bicycle tire, get the steel ones.

> 24 hourThey work, theyre much better than tire spoons but I wish they were twice as long for better leverage.

> 24 hourThese work as advertised. Learn how to change your tires yourself and you can save some serious money. You’ll save money on your first change.

> 24 hourThey work. Without reading the directions and never having removed a big dual sport tire before they logically allowed me to break the bead with minimal thinking. Besides working fine as a bead breaker, they can double as tire spoons too so if you are using it to make a to-go emergency tool kit its a reasonable choice. No regrets on purchase. -- On a side note, if you have never changed a tire yourself yet do yourself a flavor and practice the first one in the safety of your garage. Its do-able, but hard work. Having prior experience before a real emergency could be valuable later so you know you have all the right tools and knowledge in advance. Also bought Motion Pro 08-0286 10 T6 Combo Lever to do this and it is a very nice item.
