> 3 dayI replaced a five port with this eight which expanded the number of available devices. As a plus, the bridge maintains great speed on all ports. One caution, add plugs in order, do not skip a port opening. I did and for some reason, the end ports did not work well. I do not know why, but re-arranging the plugs solved the problem. I keep an extra line on the end port, available to plug laptops or tablets for hardwire internet access (always faster than WIFI). Get a few long cat-6 wires to reach separated devices.

> 3 dayIt works, and I get full-speed connectivity through it. Im on 1 GB/s Google fiber, and I pretty much get exactly that.

> 3 dayI have a GS308E as distribution switches on each of two floors of the house, with a GS308T at our router. These switches are all durable, reliable and performant. Theyre also quite versatile. The 308E can be configured to handle VLANs, and thats the main feature that led me to use them. About the only complaints I have about the 308E are that (1) the web interface doesnt support HTTPS; and (2) you need to use Google Chrome on Windows to do a firmware update using that web interface. Of course, pretty much all SOHO network devices from Netgear have the first problem. while Ive yet to find any other device from any manufacturer that has the second. Im thinking someone at Netgear owns stock in either Alphabet or Microsoft, because I actually cant figure out how youd get that result if you tried. In other words, it took real mental effort on someones part to cripple this devices firmware in such a peculiar way. Minus one star for that.
