Nintendo Switch Pro Controller

Greater than one weekI wanted to wait a bit to give this controller a fair use before writing my review. It has had many, many hours of game to it now, and while Im not aggressive with my controllers, Im the press the buttons harder to make the character jump higher kind of player. I bought the Pro Controller because my joy-cons havent suffered from the cursed drift and I wanted them for playing mostly Just Dance. The controller feels great, its very well built and it was recognized by my Switch right away. Ive played Smash, Mario Kart, BOTW, ACNH and even some games on Steam and havent had an issue. This is definitely a great purchase; as someone else mentioned, this is a great alternative to buying other joy-cons. I kinda wish I could give this controller a 4.5 review because of the D-pad. Ive mostly used it for playing on Mario games and Ive died countless times because I stopped ducking while pressing down on the pad. The D-pad is the only downside to the controller as its unpredictable when itll fluke out.

> 3 dayGot this as a gift for my brother and it is now the only controller he uses. They are much better than the Joy-Cons with the added bonus of not having to deal with drift. Sadly Nintendo is still behind other consoles in the controller department.

Greater than one weekIm kinda mad at myself for not buying this before playing through Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This is an absolute must-have for the Switch. Its very sturdy, has stellar battery life and much better signal strength/distance than the standard snap-in controllers. My one complaint is the sharp plastic ridge between the right grip and the central controller body. I think it was a molding error because the other grip transition is smooth, as you would expect it. Im not going to sand it down or request a return or anything, but its a noticeable edge, especially when moving my right thumb from the joystick to the A/B/X/Y buttons in long sessions.

> 3 dayIve been playing on this controller quite often for the past six months and the left joystick has now completely stopped working, causing me to have to go back to the joy cons, which feel flimsy. Definitely will not be buying again and will not be purchasing a replacement for this.

> 3 dayIt takes a while to get used to this controller for me. I was using the joy-cons for a long time when I transitioned to this controller. I felt like the buttons were too gummy but its actually a good thing once I got used to it. It is perfect for those long gaming sessions. It just feels better. You need to try it to understand the difference in feel. I got these on sale, I think. Im kind of a cheap-o so I probably wouldnt get these full price...yet I still use it every time I play on my switch. Go get it if you can get a decent discount. Its nintendo so I guess any discount is a decent one.

> 3 dayPros: Can play all games with a comfortable controller. It is not the same feel as an xbox 360 controller. I was good at my old games and put 1000s of hours with a 360 controller. This controller is like another planet feel and vibe to it. If you put a case over the controller, it may feel better. The controls are perfect with no issues. Gives warnings on screen when controller is dying. Has motion controls! The controller does not slip out of your hands after hours of use. Cons: Dies rather quickly. After charging overnight, within an hour of continuous use, the controller would start saying it was dying. This is a must have product.

Greater than one weekIts one of the most ergonomically comfortable video game controllers Ive ever used. I have arthritis and cannot play on most controllers very long at all & this controller was a huge change for me, because now I can actually play video games for more than 20 minutes at a time again without pain. I like that you can also use it on PC for Steam games. I had some issues with mine where the plastic hand grips did not line up flush with the controller body and I had to return a few and do a Nintendo repair to finally get one that didnt have that issue, but that wasnt a serious issue and I think its just that I really hate the feel of a noticeable edge on my hands. The controller does have an issue with the D pad sometimes registering the wrong inputs. I never noticed this problem until Tetris 99. For games like that or 2D platformers that require a lot of precise D pad inputs it is not the best controller. But for 3D games it works well. I loved playing Breath of the Wild with it.
