> 24 hourFirst of all I have never written a review on Amazon but was compelled to do so based on my experience. I am a VR flight simmer and was searching for a new chair and a means to attach my flight controls, quadrant and rudders to go in my VR space. I ran across this Openwheeler GEN 2 Racing Wheel Stand Cockpit and wondered if I could modify the setup for flight sim. I called the seller and talked to Dimitar at Team Home Racer to see what he might suggest. Dimitar was very responsive and explained they developed several flight sim kits specialized on your particular flight sim hardware and setup. I ended up purchasing the GEN 2 racing cockpit along with their seat lift kit, a Stage 5 Flight Sim upgrade kit for Yoke, Quadrant, and rudder pedal attachment. So basically I can use this setup for X-Plane with flight yoke, rudders and quadrant, then swap over to Elite Dangerous using my Thrustmaster T16000M FCS HOTAS, and then swap over to a racing sim on the fly. Wow, ability to transition from flight sim to race effortlessly in seconds. Compact footprint, easy assembly/ breakdown storage all on the fly. Who could ask for more. So I ordered and In two days I received my GEN2 racing package along with all the custom flight sim parts. The assembly was simple and well documented. Included knobs are rubber coated and easily to adjust. Kit even included all the hardware and TOOLS…unbelievable. The chair is very comfortable, solid and extremely adjustable. If you are looking for something sturdy and flexible in your VR space or non VR needs, this is the setup to get. My experience with this product and the seller has been absolutely fantastic. I am very impressed

> 24 hourReally happy with this cockpit. I set it up with the optional flight controls kit and seat riser and use it for flying and space sims. I looked at lots of different cockpits and found this to be the best value. A nice design and well built. Even with the seat risers it is a bit low for this sixty year old to get into and out of, but it is comfortable. Was very happy with the even more rapid than projected shipping. My only complaint is that my cat has decided that it is his favorite seat in my office. I made a keyboard tray for where the racing wheel is supposed to mount. Works well, but I would have been interested in there was a keyboard mount available.

> 24 hourIve had this rig for about 2 weeks now. Shipping was fast! Ordered on Monday morning and got it Thursday afternoon. Assembly was quick and easy. All the parts came individually packaged and most were labeled. The instructions were pretty good, the best part is ALL the tools were supplied! After about 10min of fidgeting with my new seat I got down to business. Majority of this is held together with turn knobs, they are larger in size and have a nice rubber coating, which makes tightening everything easy and comfortable. The hand full of bolts that I did use were all in easy places to get to. Assembly took me less than 15min. Let me pause and mention that the materials used are TOP NOTCH! The metal frame is heavy, the plate used for the pedal stand is thick and doesnt flex, and the seat is well put together. The slider feels smooth, and the recliner locks firmly into place. Again this thing is solid!!!! I went with the thrustmaster tx with tp3a pro pedals, and TH8A shifter. The plate for the base comes pre drilled for the base, and hardware is supplied. Mine were individually packaged and labeled. Under heavy steering the plate does flex a bit but its really not worth mentioning. The pedals were mounted with ease, the foot plate again comes pre drilled and hardware was supplied & labeled. The shifter mount is at a perfect angle and once secured feels sturdy. The holes for the TH8A shifter were a little off center and required a little finesse to get the bolts in and tightened, but once it was buttoned up every felt great. (Id like to add a note about the shifter mount and the shifter itself. I have BANGED gears with this. Literally tried shifting so hard I thought I was gonna break something. Never once had an issue with it coming loose or moving) Now with a all good things in life theirs always a con. My only complaint about this is, the shaft that holds the steering plate is too long. I ended up having to cut 2 off the bottom to keep from hitting my feet against the bar. Its right in the middle of the break pedal so stopping was a bit of a challenge at first. Im a short guy (55) and I feel like this was the main reason for my difficulty. I had to lower the base to its lowest setting to be comfortable for me other taller users might not have this issue, but again this was a very minor down fall that was quickly solved with a Sawzall. Over all I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this to anybody else.

> 24 hourSolid stuff. I love this thing, just dont waist your money on Logitech gear to go with it. I had to return the G29. Read Logitech support forums before wasting your time with that junk. I returned mine and replaced it with Thrustmaster gear. Youll have to drill a couple of holes to mount the peddles, but well worth the time. Thrustmaster wheel and external gear shifter are far superior. I watched a couple of videos stating that the peddle mount was a little flimsy, but that has obviously been corrected. This rig is very sturdy. It sits way too low for the viewing level of most TVs, but a platform to raise it up is pretty easy for most to build. See photo.

> 24 hourThis set up may seem like an extravagance, but if you are into sim-racing and have the room for it, go for it! Seat is very comfortable and the entire unit is adjustable so you can get the seat, wheel and pedals EXACTLY where you want them. No more fussing with clamping wheels to tables and having pedals slide around on the floor. My Thrustmaster T300 bolts onto the unit with included screws to hold everything rock-solid in place. Quality feels top-notch. Well worth the $.

> 24 hourThis chair in conjunction with the Logitech G920 wheel and pedals (and shifter) have turned a couple of fun games like Forza 6 and Project Cars into a serious addiction! Ive seriously never had more fun with video games in my entire life than I have racing around in this chair. This rig is infinitely adjustable and very stable, which some other racing seat designs appear to be lacking. I have no idea what the reviewer who said the wheel cant be raised or lowered means. Im a pretty tall dude, so in most cars (especially with manual transmissions), compromises to proper seating position have to be made, but not so with the Openwheeler cockpit. Im able to get the wheel exactly where it needs to be, and with plenty of travel room left over. The two times I have contacted customer service in regards to this chair, the responses I received were above and beyond anything I ever expected. I have seldom been as impressed with a company as I am with Home Racer. Im given the impression these people really care about the product theyre selling. Speaking of which - I have to get back. These races arent going to win themselves!

> 24 hourThe seat and all equipment came very well packaged and with clear instructions (which is a nice benefit nowadays!) Takes about 30 minutes to put together including attaching the steering wheel and pedals (T-GT). Im 65 and 260lbs and it fits me with no problems, seat is a good size and comfortable and there is plenty of room to move the seat forward and back to accommodate someone of my height, I dont even have the seat fully back at the moment so I assume it could fit someone a couple of inches taller than me. Only couple of negatives for me are that the left hand side steering wheel column adjustment knob hits my knee and is a little uncomfortable, and that with the T3PA pedals, you dont have much support below your heel so after driving for a while it can get a little uncomfortable in your calf muscles... I think this can probably be remedied with a small block though. Overall great piece of kit and highly recommended.

> 24 hourOverall this is a great entry level cockpit, but there are some things I wish I had considered beforehand. Pros: Great Quality Pretty sturdy (if using entry or mid-level gear) Easily and quickly adjustable Lightweight Takes up very little space and can be split in half just by loosening the bottom bar for easy storage. The flexibility of this rig is the best part. The seat is high quality and very comfortable, and Im happy with how easy it is to move it. It doesnt have to be a permanent part of my room. Now for some cons that I should have realized beforehand: The adjustable nature means that needs to be readjusted somewhat frequently. For instance, if you have a heavy brake (such as the conical mod or load cell brakes), then after a couple hours on road courses youll find that the rig has extended about half an inch. Easy to adjust at a pit stop, but a bit annoying. The bar in the middle makes it difficult and uncomfortable to use a 3 pedal setup as the middle bar blocks your brake. I work around this by adjusting the pedals further to the right (which this rig gives you room to do), but that means I cannot left foot brake. Its not a deal breaker for me, but I do wish I had more flexibility with my legs. I doubt that the center post will support a direct drive wheel. It also does not go up high enough when you get the optional lift kit, which can be a little annoying in VR since my arms are well below what im seeing. Overall I like this rig, but weigh the pros and cons first so you know what youre getting.

> 24 hourJust got the Openwheeler GEN2 for my son today. All I have to say is the entire build is solid and very good quality for the money. They even give you two full wrenches to tighten the nuts together. The instructions and packaging of the bolts and nuts are in bags with numbers to easily identify. The instructions were easy to follow and putting the chair together was done in less than an hour! Glad I got this!!

> 24 hourTo start out I want to say this is a well constructed product that I really enjoy. Now to a couple things that Ive noticed in the weeks that Ive owned it. First thing I noticed was the fact that if you press your foot on the pedals with force what happens is the pedals slowly slide further away from you no matter how tight you turn the knob in front of the seat. The other issue is I purchased the seat lift kit, which is very nice, it lifted the seat perfectly the issue is that when you lift the steering wheel up it gets closer and closer to your chest so that it is uncomfortable to drive and it cant be slid forward any further without then not being able to reach the pedals. Overall its a really great product the seat is very comfortable hence the four stars, it would have been five if the two issues werent there. Hopefully this helps people, also it was easily put together with clear instructions.
