> 3 dayThis chair in conjunction with the Logitech G920 wheel and pedals (and shifter) have turned a couple of fun games like Forza 6 and Project Cars into a serious addiction! Ive seriously never had more fun with video games in my entire life than I have racing around in this chair. This rig is infinitely adjustable and very stable, which some other racing seat designs appear to be lacking. I have no idea what the reviewer who said the wheel cant be raised or lowered means. Im a pretty tall dude, so in most cars (especially with manual transmissions), compromises to proper seating position have to be made, but not so with the Openwheeler cockpit. Im able to get the wheel exactly where it needs to be, and with plenty of travel room left over. The two times I have contacted customer service in regards to this chair, the responses I received were above and beyond anything I ever expected. I have seldom been as impressed with a company as I am with Home Racer. Im given the impression these people really care about the product theyre selling. Speaking of which - I have to get back. These races arent going to win themselves!

> 3 dayAmazing sim racing seat!!! Extremely well built and sturdy (see attached pictures). PARTS & ASSEMBLY: All parts came in a well-organized and packaged box with Styrofoam and bubble wrap. All tools (13 & 17 mm wrenches and two hex wrenches) to assemble are included in a nice zippered fabric bag, nuts and bolts come in individually labeled zip lock bags. Assembly manual is in full color and includes parts list and detailed instructions. Includes additional bolts and washers to attach your own wheel and pedals (Im using the t300rs). Main chrome tube angles upward to provide support to the pedal plate, had NO issue with pedal plate flexing. Different sized knobs are used to secure lower main and upright tubes. Took me about 15 minutes to assemble the unit and another 15 minutes to adjust all tubes and zip tie (included) all the cables. USE: Have used seat for a week and it is very comfortable, especially on endurance races. Lower and upper side bolsters could be tighter (Im 510” and 180 lbs), but I still feel secure in the seat. I like the fact you can adjust the recline of the seat from upright, GT racing, to reclined for F1 racing. Had very little flex in the upright wheel post and adjustment options in/out, up/down, tilt make getting the best/comfortable driving position easy. (Just added Thrustmaster HOTAS, had to get another shift mount, see photos). STORAGE: I remove the main tube (w/ pedal and wheel tube) from the seat base. I fold the seat flat then lean it upright against the wall in a closet. I then prop the pedal and wheel assembly next to it. Takes less than 5 minutes to put-away and assemble for next round of racing. Highly recommend this rig for its solid construction, care in packaging, quality material, finish, adjustment options, ability to recline and comfort. Hats off to OW for a stellar product!!!

24-11-2024Fantastic. Excellent level of adjustability. It is quite low to the ground, but it works great. I’m 6’3” and no complaints.

> 3 dayFirst off, I totally love this thing. It is exactly what I was looking for. Easy to setup, very comfortable. Adjustable in just about any way you want. Seller is nothing short of amazing. Sent me the hotas setup for my elite dangerous for free. Responds to questions very quickly and was a major help in getting this thing working. My particular setup required three plates which he sent me without a issue. I highly recommend this rig regardless of if you’re into racing or flight. It’ll work great. Instructions are very easy to understand, just be sure you are using the correct parts and you won’t have issues.

> 3 dayWell made and functional. I mounted my Logitech G920 wheel, Logitech pedals, and added Logitech shifter and the setup was well worth the money.

> 3 dayWhat a great experience. I have owned the rig for almost a year. I have bought most of the accessories too. The materials are top notch, the design is well thought out and the seat is very comfortable. The best part though is the customer service. I wish other companies were this good at their job.

> 3 dayI dont run my brakes with a loadcell ( v3 pedals) and low force so idk how plate would handle super heavy 90 kg pressure or something but for me its good same with steering no noticeable flex. Only annoyance is pole between your legs but seat is super comfy. my manual says gen 3 idk if thats a misprint or I got an updated version but 5/5 best storable rig Ive seen for the money. P.S riser kit is must get if you plan on playing with your tv/monitors in a higher place since this seat/frame is basically on the floor.

> 3 dayFirst thing I notice was the quality of this set up. All the hardware is up to par. It has washers, lock washers and self locking nuts. The seat is very comfortable and high quality. Worth the money. This is my first sim seat.

> 3 dayThis review is posted twice because I bought two of these seats, a yellow one and a blue one. Personally, I like the yellow one better. Its uglier and therefore faster. --- Yeah, ok, I dont have a Youtube anymore, but Im sure a few people reading this will still recognize the name. 5 years since my retirement from Focke-Wulfing and Im still Turbo-Lotusing, and this seat is where Im at right now with hardware. Im actually more enthusiastic about this racing seat than Ive been about any piece of sim hardware since CH products or even Track IR, and the support the company puts behind the product is the primary reason why -- its a great product with unbeatable customer support. I tried to repair my previous seat (a Bob Earl V1) but the damage to the fiberglass was too great for a patch. Seeing as Bob Earl is out of the racing seat business these days (making spares or replacement parts difficult) new options were needed. I investigated several options, quickly settling on this Openwheeler as checking all the right boxes for me: close to the open wheel sitting position, durable heavy steel adjustable hardware, and a comfortable, realistic, adjustable seat. I was looking for functional simplicity, and sight unseen I made a very good choice. These seats are very well made, comfortable, and solid. The padding and especially the foam molding design could be better (it feels like years of use could cause them to detach), but for the price it is quite acceptable (and Ill be back to update over the years if I have problems). The seat is not a genuine Sparco or anything like that -- its just a generic racing seat meant to imitate the more expensive ones, but for a generic racing seat it largely feels nice and well made. The welding on the frame is a bit sloppy in places but the entire system is very sturdy and easy to adjust. Very, very solid. The knobs used to adjust the entire system are very well made and comfortable on the hands (a huge improvement from my old Bob Earl). The first seat I received (the blue one) came with a bent/defective base and Openwheeler shipped me a replacement very quickly with a simple email. All they requested were some pictures and they quickly expedited me a replacement (complete with tools). Overall the design is of very high quality, and, more importantly, its very functional. I was originally going to dock them at least one star for these seats not being compatible with Fanatec racing hardware, but after quickly dashing off an email to customer service they went out of their way to ship me, unexpectedly and completely for free, a bunch of prototype parts and beta designs they were working on that added Fanatec hardware compatibility. They were quick, pleasant, very professional, and actually listened to me and responded to my feedback. For example when the first pedal mount bracket they sent wasnt aligned properly I drew a diagram of what was wrong and they immediately fabricated and sent me a fix for it. This type of back and forth happened for several months and they ended up sending me numerous pieces to test and feedback. They clearly care about their product, and their customers. Ive got a direct relationship now with their customer support (positive energy and shouts go out to Dimitar!) virtually guaranteeing 100% of my future business in this purchasing category (mid level racing seats and related hardware). Its a pity more companies dont recognize the positive and long lasting relationships they could cultivate with their customers if theyd simply make a little effort. Now Im totally satisfied, sitting in a comfortable racing seat, very close to an accurate open wheel sitting position, with hard mounted Fanatec CSR wheel and hard mounted Fanatec Clubsport V2 pedals, totally immersed in my favourite racing sims, hanging on to the limit of grip in all my favourite race cars. Its too bad PCARS development never went anywhere (an example of a company going out of their way to cultivate bad relationships with their customers, those guys), but at least the future of rFactor 2 is looking exceedingly bright. Bring on the next 5 or 10 years of sim racing, because Im ready!

> 3 dayI started out looking at Wheel Stand Pro Super G to mount my Logitech G29, but quickly stumbled upon the OpenWheeler Gen 2. Based on the large number of positive reviews I decided it was worth the extra money to get a full racing rig. Glad I made the leap! I added the OpenWheeler Seat Lift Kit and OpenWheeler Universal Bracket so I could mount a Buttkicker mini LFE subwoofer to my setup. With these upgrades I no longer have a racing seat, I own a racing simulator! The item was packed very well and the box was no larger than it needed to be. Assembly and setup were a breeze. I suggest you get the Seat Lift Kit at time of purchase to simplify the setup process and save you the trouble from disassembling it all later. I believe the seat lift kit should be included standard since its so good, but understand the manufacturer is trying to hit a lower price point to compete with other solutions. My first recommendation for future improvement includes changing the location of the three large knobs on the base of steering column and main support. Their placement makes entry and exit a bit awkward and it seems like Im always bumping my feet into them. The rig is sturdy enough, but if they could place the large knobs on the side it would make entry and exit easier. My second recommendation would be to alter the design so I could push the steering wheel further away from me, but bring the foot pedals closer. I like to drive with my arms a bit more extended. Maybe a U shaped cut out in the foot pedal plate? Overall, Im extremely happy with the OpenWheeler setup and my buddy is impressed with it. He now loves playing Gran Turismo. Previously, he said he wasnt into racing games, but he sure is now! Very happy with my investment.
