Great quality, that’s my first screen projector so I don’t know if it’s pricey or not but the quality and ease of use is magnificent.

Movie nights have been great. Weve used it in the back yard on a 144-inch screen. The images have been bright, crisp, and appear comparable to our 1080p HD TV. We have only used it at night time, so it has been entirely dark. I cant comment on the quality during day time usage. We havent used it for gaming or other applications.

Husband and I bought this to replace a similar Optoma DLP projector that we had for ~6 years. For the same price point now, this one is way brighter. We used to have to wait until dark to see anything properly on a projector, but this one is still super clear in the middle of the day (barring direct sunlight of course). That aspect alone is worth the upgrade for us, because we can get way more use out of it. The picture is very good; colors are bright and accurate. I also love the focus knob; since its so big, it offers very fine control and its easy to get it focused perfectly. The only cons I have are small: (1) It takes a really long time to turn on and switch inputs compared to other projectors Ive had. Not a big deal, just a little annoying. (2) No dust filter! I dont know why Optoma doesnt think dust filters are necessary. Apparently they only include them in dusty climates, whatever that means. Without one, dust will collect in the projector and make it more likely to overheat and have parts break down (thats what happened to our last one multiple times). If you are tech savvy enough, you can open the projector up every so often and vacuum the dust out to make sure the projector lasts a long time. Also just make sure you place it in a well-ventilated spot / not right up against a wall and definitely not in an enclosed space like a cubby shelf. Dont just rely on the projector telling you when its too hot, something could be damaged or starting to melt a little before the built-in sensors go off. For future reference, if something does go wrong, dont be afraid to fix it yourself. The most common issue Ive had with DLP projectors is a bad color wheel. If your colors start flashing weirdly and you hear whirring/clicking from the projector, its probably the color wheel. You can get a new one online for <$30 and replace it yourself. Just look up a video.

Its been a pretty solid unit up until the last couple of months. Fan noise is a little high under certain operation modes, but the biggest issue I have is dead pixels. It started out as a few but has progressed steadily over the last month or two to the point where its very noticeable. Im sure I have no more warranty coverage at this point, so Im guessing Ill be replacing it soon.

This is an excellent projector if it works for mire than 10 viewing hours. Mine did not. The fan started making a scraping noise after a few hours, then the fan quit. An overheating message came on and then it shut down. That was that. Lucky for me I could return it.

The picture quality is great. Was on the fence about maybe getting a 4k projector, but realized how unnecessary it was for me. 1080p is perfect. The brightness is great. Sometimes I darken the room, but it isnt necessary most of the time. The input lag is so low, I dont notice it. Even when Im playing a FPS like Halo Infinite. It creates a good amount of heat (like any projector) and the built in speakers are awful. But who cares about that? I bought a cheap sound bar and Im very happy with the whole set up.

I LOVED my Benq. But this Optoma projector definitely has less rainbow effect than the similarly featured Benq projector.

I was debating between the hd146 and this projector. I definitely recommend this projector over the hd146. The HDR is amazing on it.

This is an awesome projector: Weve watched movies and Ive played Destiny 2 and it has adjusted to the different requirements wonderfully. I really havent noticed a difference in quality from playing on a large screen tv to the projector -- a very smooth gaming experience. My one complaint is the lack Bluetooth technology that would allow us to connect the sound system and not need to have all these additional wires and extensions to be able to get a sound that matches the image.

I use this projector for movies, gaming, and live stream. I’m impressed with the quality all around. I say it’s flaw is shadowy areas in films and what not you can see pixelation and it’s not sharp, only in the darker areas. Other than that I love it
