20-11-2024Bought a lowered price projector before this one that claimed was super bright and wasn’t at all. The next day purchased this one and love it. Super clear and extremely bright in my back yard as you can see from the photo. Projector is about 8-10 feet away. Highly recommend!

16-11-2024This is my second and probably last Optima projector. #1 was good, this one HD28HDR is a dud! The fan in it is super LOUD (terrible whining noise.... not normal). The image has ghosting on it as well. If this is where optima has gone with their quality, skip it. Save your money and buy something else as the warranty on a device should be longer than 12 months and the device should run longer than that too....... 1 out of 5 stars, would not recommend.

> 3 dayPicture quality: good User Interface: Horrible The menu only last for seven seconds which would be ok if I didnt have to read everything backwards. I unfortunately mounted to ceiling thinking I could easily invert screen. Thirty minutes later with projector on ladder and words reading left to right did I finally invert picture.

> 3 dayPros - high Pic quality, bright - seeing very well with lighted room, easy to use, include HDMI CEC which make the Remote control useless, super quiet, comfortable price. Cons - lamp area is super hot, cant touch it. thats why I didnt gave 5 stars I guess it wont extend lamp life...

> 3 daySo far so good. I first bought the $200 projector and that was a bust! Had it for a couple days and it stop working. It was a tough decision between the Epson and Optoma. Picture quality and speed for gaming it’s definitely great for your buck! I’ll do a follow up review after 90 days and let you know how things are.

> 3 dayThe only negative is lack of audio. Either audio system or headset fixes the trick...good for on the go and perfect for gaming.

> 3 dayPicture quality is super. My vision is not so great and HDR is more than sufficient to me. The speaker is OK but you do need to have a real speaker. I am not picky in sound but you just gradually get a little bit greedier in your home theatre and want to upgrade when the picture is so great. Not sure how the lamps will work but I got extended warranty from my credit card so I guess I will be just fine. Compared with BENQ th585 (yeah I bought both..), both are 2020 version. The pic diff between the 2 is noticeable. BENQ is very user friendly and I was sold when only using it. But as soon as I switch to compare the pic quality between the 2 I can’t really go back.... so sad I have to return BENQ as it has long warranty and seemingly better customer service (from the review). But for now I have to say OPTOMA 2020 version is better.

Greater than one week3 problems on the first day: The unit is producing lots of heat, the screen sometime flicking colors and make my eyes go into discomfort and feel dizzy, last but not least the hdmi slot doesn’t let me connect to my laptop…will not recommend this model if you consider to buy it.

> 3 dayI just received the Optoma HD28HDR today and did a few things to test it out before final mount and setup. I tried the QR code for more detailed setup only to find Optoma says a HD28HDR doesn’t exist? It also states in the description that it has optical out, so I purchased a long optical cord to go along with it.... no optical out hookup! Only a 3.5mm audio out jack. The brief look into picture quality didn’t seem bad, but I’m pretty disappointed in the lack of information for the product from the company, and the misinformation on the description. I’m hoping I didn’t waste my time and money
