> 3 dayIve had this projector for about 1.5 years and it already has developed 8 dead pixels. The eco mode doesnt work right anymore either. Eco mode makes the screen rapidly flash. So Im forced to use the high brightness mode now. Luckily, I can adjust the brightness through NVIDIA software controls. Adjusting the projector focus is a pain, requiring super precise adjustments to avoid having blurry spots in the projected image. Overall Im not sure I would buy another one. If you do buy this, plan on it degrading fairly quickly. I believe after 1 year it was still working fairly well, so perhaps consider it an annual purchase.

> 3 dayThis projector is great. We use it for outdoor movies for our neighborhood. We have to wait until dusk, but thats okay, its starting to get darker earlier now. Also, it doesnt have 4K, it takes the 4K signal and drops it to 1080. HDR I couldnt get my PS4 to recognize, and I havent figured out if its possible to enable 3D on SBS content, as I have a lot of that. EDIT: I was able to find that I could choose SBS on the projector and get my 3D movies playing.

Greater than one weekIve had this projector for a month and its been overall amazing. For those on the fence about buying this, go ahead and get it!! Coming from a 65 inch 4k tv, this is a huge upgrade in my opinion. Im running 135 inch screen and that movie theater feel is amazing! The HDR DOES make the picture look better, even though hdr isnt the greatest on projectors. Colors look more saturated and pop more.

> 3 dayGreat projector for gaming (Call of Duty) and movies! I don’t have windows in the room where it’s set up, but I do have to dim the lighting to get the best picture...I have the projector approximately 11’ from my screen and not sure how it would do in my living room where it’s bright out during the day. I may attempt in the future to set it up there and see how it does- if so I’ll repost the results. Otherwise a great projector!

> 3 dayHusband and I bought this to replace a similar Optoma DLP projector that we had for ~6 years. For the same price point now, this one is way brighter. We used to have to wait until dark to see anything properly on a projector, but this one is still super clear in the middle of the day (barring direct sunlight of course). That aspect alone is worth the upgrade for us, because we can get way more use out of it. The picture is very good; colors are bright and accurate. I also love the focus knob; since its so big, it offers very fine control and its easy to get it focused perfectly. The only cons I have are small: (1) It takes a really long time to turn on and switch inputs compared to other projectors Ive had. Not a big deal, just a little annoying. (2) No dust filter! I dont know why Optoma doesnt think dust filters are necessary. Apparently they only include them in dusty climates, whatever that means. Without one, dust will collect in the projector and make it more likely to overheat and have parts break down (thats what happened to our last one multiple times). If you are tech savvy enough, you can open the projector up every so often and vacuum the dust out to make sure the projector lasts a long time. Also just make sure you place it in a well-ventilated spot / not right up against a wall and definitely not in an enclosed space like a cubby shelf. Dont just rely on the projector telling you when its too hot, something could be damaged or starting to melt a little before the built-in sensors go off. For future reference, if something does go wrong, dont be afraid to fix it yourself. The most common issue Ive had with DLP projectors is a bad color wheel. If your colors start flashing weirdly and you hear whirring/clicking from the projector, its probably the color wheel. You can get a new one online for <$30 and replace it yourself. Just look up a video.
