I tried other programs, and it was hard to use

I used the previous version of PDF extra for windows. I really liked it. The one thing I did not like about it is that it only gave you a 1-year license to use it. The 2021 version gives you a lifetime license. I like that because its old school. Thats the way it used to be. One license per computer and you can really not have to worry about upgrading for a few years. You can combine various PDF documents into one document. You can edit or add signatures to pdfs. You can do all sorts of cool things with this well-made and intuitive professional PDF editor. You also get 5 GB of cloud storage. I dont really need it, but its nice to have it in case you want a place to store all your pdfs.

My other program stopped working, which was old and I could not download a replacement without costing an arm and a leg. So, this program fits my needs and costs a fourth of the other programs. I mostly use the password protect function and program of combining multiple documents together. It works fast and is easy to use. Im happy.

I am a longtime Adobe user and I desperately want a PDF software program that doesnt require a subscription. While I dont have to create many PDFs a year, the ones I do create are for print book publishing, which means they need to to be able to meet the PDF/A compliance requirements. This software cannot do that. I need to be able to edit photos inserted into a PDF. This software cannot do that. You cant recolor an image or even CROP an image. Not being able to crop an image placed into a PDF seems to me to be a huge oversight from the developer. It is one of the most fundamental things you would need to be able to do. You cant convert a color image to greyscale or B&W. Another huge oversight. The text editing is also very limited. While you can change the fonts and their sizes, that is about it. There is no indenting or margin justification or even text shaping available. You can get better results designing your document in Word and then printing to PDF (Word will automatically convert your headers to bookmarks if you tell it to). This software is frankly so limiting that Im not sure who it is targeting. Casual users can get the same results with a wide range of free PDF programs available. And it certainly isnt functional for professional publishers or designers looking for a replacement for Adobe.

This took me 8 minutes to get up and running, and i could edit every pdf that i tried. I received just a card with a scratch-off covered activation code. There is a webpage link written on the card, and at that site i entered the 8-character code. That allowed a 6MB download which only took a minute. Clicking on that downloaded file started a full download, then a startup page. I chose to register my email and name and password, though it also said i could start without registering. That took me to a file menu. From my first trip to the activation code page, to the file menu, took me just 8 minutes. I opened several pdfs from different sources, and i was able to edit text fields in each of them. I didnt try any fancy functions, but for ease on installation, and ease of editing text fields in pdfs that others have sent me, this software has earned 5 stars.

PDFs are heavily used, from banking to medical, instruction manuals to electronic signatures. Your web browser will open them, and allow simple changes as permitted by the author, but sometimes that isnt enough, and sometimes you need to create your own PDFs. And that is where this comes in. It works very well, gives me the controls I need, easy to use and well documented
