> 3 dayLove the functionality, dislike they brightness. LIFX is far brighter (1100 lumens) but inconsistent as each light connects to WiFi vs Hue which is connected via a hub. I have 8 lights in one room and it is STILL not bright enough (only 800 lumens) however the features are where it makes up. Reliable, 3rd gen lights have greater, truer color and Home Kit & Alexa make up for how much dimmer they are than LIFX. I will say had I not moved from LIFX first, it might have not been such a stark difference.

> 3 dayVery great product. Use it with Amazon Echo. Main issue is how extremely expensive it is.

> 3 dayI started out with just wanting to have an IKEA tower light able to be dimmed and then decided to fill it with colored lights. Very glad I did. It soon became a bit of an obsession, where now every light in my apartment is Hue, which is over 50 lights. For my bathroom and office, I didnt go with colored bulbs. Id tried colored ones in the bathroom at first but found I never wanted them so I moved those to other rooms. There are fun apps that my niece and nephews love to play with that do light shows (OnSwitch is their favorite). Ive attached an image Id put together when I first started playing with them. I combine them with the Philips Hue Tap Switch that I keep by the couch so I can quickly switch the room to presets. I have motion sensors in hallways (because who ever flips the light on then back off at the other end?) and have them set to switch on dimmer at night to find my way to the bathroom without blinding me. Ive attached some extreme examples but most of the time I just have the colors set to an autumn sunset feel, not quite so dramatic. I like that during the day, you can change the color temperature to match sunlight so your lights match the light from outside, almost like skylights.

> 3 dayLove being able to change the light colors in my lamps by rooms at a time or singularly from my phone app . Mood lighting at it’s finest from sunset colors today to mountain mornings to movie theater background lighting to bright reading lights. Love living in a giant lava light.

> 3 dayPut these in some paper globs and hanging light sockets. Alexa controls them and I got the switch for them too.

> 3 dayI have loved these bulbs since Generation 1. Have them in the recessed lighting within our living room. My 7 year olds love having dance parties and having the lights change colors to the beat of the music.

21-11-2024Hue is definitely the top of the line when it comes to smart bulbs. Ive tried TP-Link and Lifx, and neither offer the same set of features. There are a few features where Hue is lacking, like allowing you to use your smart assistant to adjust to a custom scene (or set a custom routine to a custom scene), and they dont let you define global scenes (they have to be specific to rooms). If these were more reasonably priced, Id give it a 5 star, but this is a luxury item that doesnt (yet) meet all of my lighting needs.
