> 3 dayIm just adding more bulbs to my setup. I decided to get these bulbs instead of the cheaper white-only version because even it cost more, I know theyre durable and allow me to personalize spaces with millions of different colors, making my home look great.

> 3 dayHue is definitely the top of the line when it comes to smart bulbs. Ive tried TP-Link and Lifx, and neither offer the same set of features. There are a few features where Hue is lacking, like allowing you to use your smart assistant to adjust to a custom scene (or set a custom routine to a custom scene), and they dont let you define global scenes (they have to be specific to rooms). If these were more reasonably priced, Id give it a 5 star, but this is a luxury item that doesnt (yet) meet all of my lighting needs.

> 3 dayIts smart to buy 3rd generation bulbs only (SKU 464xxx). A19 means its a standard light bulb with a standard Edison base (large screw in). Phillips Hue A19 Color Bulbs I have: Gen2 SKU 456186 Gen2 SKU 456202 Gen3 SKU 464487

> 3 dayAwesome product! Have 2 of them installed outdoors in my garage coach lights, they work perfectly so far. FYI, my coach lights are the lantern type, solid top, glass walls, solid bottom.

> 3 dayThese are such great smart lights - we use them throughout our home & externally, and they integrate well with Alexa and Google. The color choices are great, and many apps connect to make entertainment more enjoyable with music and movies.

> 3 dayThey are expensive, but the latest generation have fantastic deep colors. Ive been gradually replacing all my regular bulbs. In addition to the rainbow of colors, you can also stay on the white scale and change your white light from warm to daylight --- you can match your house lighting to the time of day or your mood.

Greater than one weekUpdate- SO sick of not being able to turn my lights on and off. This breaks down and requires a factory reset every other month. This time the reset didnt work so my lightbulbs dont work. No fix, they dont know whats wrong and the Indian 3rd party call center is no help. This is ridiculous and a terrible product. ------------ The new bulbs are now plastic and much lighter/more cheap feeling. The bulb isnt smooth, but is 2 parts (opaque and white) plastic parts snapped together. Philips finally dropped their quality in the quality/price war on their bulbs. Very disappointed and will be looking for the old style of bulb. Purple box=plastic, black=glass. ---------------------------- Previous review- Great individually, but gets clumsy and slow, erratic with multiple lights. I have 8 now but problems began to arise with 4 lights. They dont get worse, just more noticable. They will dim and turn off/on at different times, all within 1 second of each other, but it looks odd when each light dims independently of the others. It ruins that smooth dimming transition. Good with colors, some have far more room to customize than others, look at the color wheel for hue if you dont know what Im talking about. These are the best out there, but their price drop has me thinking gen 4 is coming out soon, and the price is still astronomical compared to normal, in a decent, led, or any other normal lightbulb. Especially with 12+ year bulbs for $0.10 these days. It is a bigger decision than you might be realizing, as once you get some, or fill one room, you begin to want to fill out the rest of your lights. Although I suppose that also speaks very highly of them!

> 3 dayI have three hue lightbulbs in my home. One in my husbands office, and two in our master bedroom. We purchased them one at a time due to the price but always wish we had them in every lamp in the home (we haven’t tried them in the ceiling yet). The app is easy to use and I love the ability to dim my lights in various color hues. So nice to be able to turn your lights off without getting up. Compatible with Alexa devices. We use a hue hub but you won’t need one if you have an Amazon Echo plus. The only downside to using hue is that they don’t function beyond a regular lightbulb without WiFi, but this isnt an issue unless your WiFi goes out. The amazon price is currently $10 cheaper than Best Buy and Target!
