Greater than one weekThe flip-top burner is top notch & portability is perfect with the right case. I was in a rush and preferred one with the case included. My mistake, but I should have done a little more research. As a note for any potential buyers, the bundled case is way too big for the drive and takes up too much extra space. It could actually fit 2 burners plus 4 or 5 extra 1-3 ft cables easy. If you dont need that much capacity or the bundled Cyberlink Media Suite software key, save the extra $20+ and buy the drive by itself.

> 3 dayPortability is great, though Id say the case is bigger than it needs to be. Didnt care for the bundled software. Functionality is so-so. Using it if you need to install something from a disc is fine. Watching a movie isnt as good as Id expect for this price. In a movie lasting an hour and a half it paused for a few seconds at least a dozen times while the drive made an audible spinning sound like it was struggling to read the disc. There are no issues with the disc. My other computers built-in drive as well as the player hooked up to my TV have no issues. Its just this drive. So if you just need it to install programs that are still on disc or maybe want to listen to CDs, its probably fine. I dont advise getting this to watch movies with. Its not worth it.

> 3 dayI use this for playing standard dvds. I have not yet used it for blueray. It works well and is easy to load. I specifically looked at this model because of its clam shell lid. It is a bit pricey. Other brands can be found for less. I am pleased with it for my usage and needs.

> 3 dayTo be honest, Im actually disappointed with the product. Its grossly expensive for how mechanically simple it is, and its the mechanically simple aspect of it which is why I chose this over other players. Fewer automatic/moving parts, = fewer things to go wrong over time. However, the hefty price doesnt justify the lack of complexity of this particular product, even those I chose to buy it regardless of that hoping other aspects will make it worth wild. A few issues Ive had with it out of the box. 1. It doesnt come with any software, and tries to coax you into downloading a suite which comes with unnecessary bloatware, and bloatware might as well be considered malware. Though downloading this stuff is option, and I absolutely avoided it, and chose to download a free player. The fact it didnt bother to even send you a disk with player software on it, and asked you to go to a URL is just absolutely lazy/cheap definitely for the price they charge, and the fact it was pretty much something they got for free being its basically glorified adware which most likely cost them nothing makes it quite disappointing. 2. The power USB Cable for this product is proprietary. Which is unacceptable. I doubt the USB cable that comes with this will work on any other product, as Ive never seen its connecter anywhere else before. Such Cables should be illegal in my mind, as it makes getting a replacement considerably more difficult if at all possible in a reasonable way. Worse yet the USB Cable is ridiculously short, which would be fine for a laptop, but just a few extra inches would of made it usable on just about any device including a desktop, as fewer and fewer desktops today are including disc drives of any kind. Coming with a Longer Cable should of been included. 3. The product doesnt read all Blu-Ray Disk Formats. This I was surprised as my 7 year old Blu-ray Disk Drive on my old PC ran any format of Blu-Ray and the darn thing cost like $30 bucks back then. I found it will not read specific blu-ray formats. Though it seems to work just fine for movies. Over all, I would say Im actually disappointed in the product. Coming with some kind of software should of come with the package being the price was so steep. Coming with a longer Cable for its excessive price would of been nice, or at least not a proprietary connector so I could use something I already have to make up for your tight accountants. Being able to read all blu-ray formats for its price would of been nice, the reason I primarily bought it, turned out to be worthless to me, but at least it plays movies (Sarcastic thumbs up). I see nothing that justifies the steep price of this product, there are older products for almost half the price which can do more. All I found were reasons that I should of bought another product.
