The product came with a product key and link to software to be able to write data. The link brings you to a site with a dozen products with none matching the name given in the documentation. Pretty much useless. I use the drive to read which works fine but now have no way to write.

This unit is a BEAST!! BluRay, DVD, CD, doesn’t seem to matter. Transfer speeds are top notch, quality of workmanship is excellent. Highly recommended.

Looks good, can read Blu-rays and DVDs. Only need one cable for operation, no extra power cable necessary. Can read single layer and dual layer dvd and blurays. Have not tested the other types yet. Happy with purchase.

Using this burner to rip CDs in flac format on a late 2013 Mac Pro (trash can). Plan to use it to rip Blu-Rays as well. Works flawlessly thus far.

Portability is great, though Id say the case is bigger than it needs to be. Didnt care for the bundled software. Functionality is so-so. Using it if you need to install something from a disc is fine. Watching a movie isnt as good as Id expect for this price. In a movie lasting an hour and a half it paused for a few seconds at least a dozen times while the drive made an audible spinning sound like it was struggling to read the disc. There are no issues with the disc. My other computers built-in drive as well as the player hooked up to my TV have no issues. Its just this drive. So if you just need it to install programs that are still on disc or maybe want to listen to CDs, its probably fine. I dont advise getting this to watch movies with. Its not worth it.
