PlayStation Vita Memory Card 64GB (PCH-Z641J)

As a release day owner of my Vita, I started out with the 8g card. With few games at the time this wasnt really a big deal. I soon jumped up to the 16g and stuck it out there because I didnt want to pay so much more for the 32g. Now with a larger library of games, especially those with PS Plus subscriptions and other downloaded games available I really didnt want to wait any longer. I was a bit hesitant at first to import the 64g card since they are only available in Japan. Sony hasnt released them in the US (which boggles the mind) and at first some of the price gouging on them was insane. After waiting a bit for the price to drop I took the plunge. The 64GB card has gotten a lot of bad reviews. Why? Not because of a faulty item, but because of price. I can understand this as I hesitated for a long time before purchasing any card bigger than the 8GB. Its also understandable as many sellers were significantly price gouging when these were first released in Japan. Consumers want Sony to know they are unhappy with the choice to keep us locked to purchasing their memory. Yes, Sony has made a smart move to lock consumers in. Now that the new version of the Vita is out, its pretty obvious it isnt going to change. There is no reason to keep a smaller number of games, music, and videos on your Vita if you really dont have to. The price is considerable, but its the best bang for your buck. If you purchase any of the smaller cards youre ending up paying more in the long run even when they are on sale. (Black Friday/Cyber Monday included) Yes, it WILL work on your US Vita. These cards are not region locked. I have a US Launch Vita and it works just fine. Keep in mind youll need to format it when it arrives, at least I needed to. This card will display as being 59GB, when it fact it is 64GB. Its just how the memory is measured, it doesnt mean the memory is faulty or anything like that. As other reviewers have agreed its a common business practice with memory and its nothing to be concerned about. Just a heads up as Ive read a lot of people are confused and even angered by it.. but its just how memory works. Backing up your Vita and then moving everything over to the new card is simple. Just connect it to your computer, backup/restore and youre good to go. I for one like physical copies of games. Call me old school but I like having a product I can hold. Thats not to say I dont have plenty of downloadable titles as well (Final Fantasy, Walking Dead, PS Plus freebies..etc). I have pretty much every title I own on my Vita right now with room to spare and that feels good. To re-iterate there are no plans to bring this card to the US as of yet. It was initially announced about its release in Japan last November 2013. So if youre waiting for it to come out here, dont bother. I got this for a decent price with Prime. It arrived quickly, safely and in new condition. Ive had no issues with it and love the fact that I have so much space available. If youre a Vita junkie like me you cant go wrong here. Dont sell yourself short purchasing a 32GB card that wont save you money in the end. Purchase from a trusted seller and give your Vita some freedom. Hate on Sony for smart business practice but in the end the product does work. Pros: Isnt Region locked. 59GB, plenty of space for your favorite games, music, movies, etc. Easy to install and use. Cons: Price.

Unfortunate as it is that Sony opted for proprietary memory cards on the PS Vita, this memory card has served me well and holds dozens of PS Vita / PS1 games. This is considerably a better option than a MicroSD adaptor if you have physical Vita games, as the adaptors plug in to where physical games go.

Im very satisfied with my memory card. I believe that if youre going to own a PlayStation Vita (PS Vita) you owe it to yourself to invest in the 64GB or 32GB memory card. I think it goes without saying that the price point on these memory cards doesnt properly reflect the current market price for similarly sized ones by competitors, but with Sony making these proprietary... theres really no choice is there? Being a PlayStation Plus member, and receiving so many free & cool monthly PS Vita games via the service, I was hindered by the measly 4GB memory card that comes with the PS Vita. I can now load up my PS Vita with the games Ive been anxiously wanting to keep loaded on my system, without having to constantly delete it so that I can play another title. For those wondering, the imported 64GB memory card works great in the North American versions of the handheld. Its simply only available in Japan, for whatever reason.

Item came quick and on time. Only thing that boths me is the price tag. But it is understandable since prices are going up for gaming since the pandemic hit.

Downside: so expensive that I felt guilty buying it. Its the equivalent of buying the last ticket to a ballgame from a scalper: you know youre not getting what youre paying for, but if you want it badly enough youll do it anyways and then feel like you wasted your money after. Upside: Its enough room so that you dont have to worry about card management anymore. So thats something.

If we overlook the fact that the price is far too high for a 64 gb card and just review it on its merits, this card is great. The fact is if you own a vita, you need a memory card and the 64gb card is the largest and the the cheapest in terms of dollars/gb. If you own a vita and have playstation+, you want to have a lot of space for all those vita games that come with it. Some games can be quite large and if you hate swapping data like I do, a 64 gb card will do the trick. Note that the packaging is all in Japanese, but vitas are not region locked, so it works fine in a US vita.

Still pricey though theyve come down some the 64 gig gives you lowest price per gig i download movies games and music and its nice having it all on one card I love my vita and a good card becomes necessary to enjoy its potential would have done 5 stars if it was better priced but thats sonys fault not sellers arivied in a timely order and was exactly what I expected

I was close to running out of space on my 32gb card & needed to buy another card. I like keeping all my stuff organized in one place, so I decided to upgrade to the 64gb (I wish there was a 128gb option). The only thing I can say is that I wish Sony would have released these here in the United States & that they would not have to be so expensive. Other than that, this very small memory card is a beast when it comes to storage for your Vita & in my opinion was worth the extra money to import it. Be aware that it actually has 59gb of usable space to begin with.

Works perfectly on my north american vita. I have so much room I can just carelessly download as much as i want. I have about 20 movies and like 30 games (vita, psp, ps1 etc) and I still have plenty of room. I also keep about 80 of my favorite songs on it too. I dont like to physical copies of games because theyre tiny and easy to lose so this is perfect. I only give it a 4 because its way over priced. If it were about 40 dollars, itd be a solid 5 star.

Until I purchased this, I owned a 32GB card and an 8GB. Although it still wasnt enough storage for all the network games I purchased, it was good enough. The only pain was having to swap out the cards and restart. I caved in and decided to purchase this card and sell off the others and Im glad I did. Now I have enough storage for all my games and no more swapping. Just grab and go. Although pricey, I prefer just having all my games in one spot and less to carry around. If you hold out, the price fluctuates. Ive seen them dip below the $90 mark to around $85. But they are hard to find these days. Especially USA made ones. The Japanesse ones (the one I bought) work exactly the same.
