Not sure if its working as its supposed to, because it has yet to change any color and I know I have some sort of problem due to having algea but all the pad is doing is filtering the small particles from the water. If anything changed Ill definitely update this.

Helps keep aquarium clean. Will always use in my tanks.

They did a great job sucking copper out of my betta tank (accidentally bought gravel that had copper in it, whoops!)

I usually use this to get rid of copper when treating my tank with Cupramine for ich issues. They turn a dark blue when exhausted of absorbing copper. They I put in another one until it doesnt turn blue anymore. Therefore I know that the copper has been absorbed. Also if I dont know whats in my tank and need them to absorb any toxins/heavy metals - I can see by color change if there is any. Otherwise, they are more expensive than your carbon but the color change and absorption is very informational and worth the cost when needed for absorbing copper, heavy metal, etc.

Great product, decent price. For smaller tanks, just cut & save the left over for later in a sealed plastic bag. I have used these in reef tanks, seahorse tanks, & even fresh water tanks.
