I had used many different products to try and solve our nitrate problem, but the polyfilter was the only one to work to lower the level. My tank had also had low, but nagging, ammonia and nitrite readings that lowered to 0 when I put in the polyfilter. I used the product in my Fluval 350 canister filter, slipped down on the outside of the large foam inserts. I took out my used up filter and the nitrate level elevated again. I am glad to find that Amazon has a three pack, since my local fish store only carries packs of single filters and cant keep them in stock. The only downside of this product is that it states that it can be recharged, but when I tried recharging per directions but it was no longer effective in removing the nitrates, etc.

I was really not too pleased with this product. I didnt see any noticeable positive improvement in my tanks water quality. And it just seem to get marked up with sediment regardless of it being in my final sump chamber. I personally think your money allotted for your aquarium hobby could be much better spent elsewhere.

This filter makes your water cleaner and clearer than bottled. If you want a guaranteed way to keep your fishs water healthy and clean, use this filter.

Absolutely LOVE this stuff. Even have it on auto-ship. If you have sensitive/delicate fish/inverts this product is a must have. Saw it initially on an aquarist YouTube channel and am so glad. I’m a very busy person, I have multiple tanks and don’t always get to my water changes as I should, with product I know my aqua-babies are safe. The ONLY thing I would remind people of is to take it out of the tank for a couple of days if you are adding any chemicals to the tank (additives or meds) as this will suck the treatment right out of the water. It also took the tannins out of my Blackwater tank (which isn’t harmful, just defeats the look).

Keeping coral is no easy task, and if something leaches into the system it could take weeks to months for everything to recover. I have a very good filtration setup, but I also keep these Poly Filter pads, as insurance. They work great and change color depending on what it absorbs.

I have a smaller tank of small shrimps with limited filtration, so having a small cube of the poly filter gives me confidence that my tank is good. I dont use this as a filter pad. I just let a small cube or two sit at the bottom of the tank. Shrimps seem to like cleaning algae bits off it.

This product is pricey, if compared to the standard activated carbon. However, not only does it outperform activated carbon as a chemical filter, but adds the benefits of physical and biological filtration. In power and canister filters, polyfilter elevates performance by orders of magnitude.
