15-04-2025I have used Poly-Filter for years. It does exactly what it says it does and it does it perfectly. There is no other chemical filter material needed. And as a bonus, you can see for yourself that its working just by looking at it. As it removes contaminates it darkens in color. The only medium that tells you when to change.

18-04-2025Excellent product! I use it instead of a foam block in some of my filtration systems, it will change color depicting what it is that this poly Filter Pad is removing from your aquarium water. Its simple to cut with scissors to fit. It is best to have some type of pre-filter to catch the large gunk that way this Poly Filter Pad will last longer. I know most salts already know everything about this, Im just saying for anyone new to the hobby.

Greater than one weekOnly reason Im giving one star is because I cant put negative stars. I put a 3 × 4 piece in my filter on Tuesday the 14th of November, by Friday the 17th water is cloudy, a major detris out break happened and my corals died. My water parameters was fine before I put it in, now everything has gone to Crap. I will not recommend this product.

> 3 dayA slightly off-white pad comes in rather nondescript package. It wasnt a day or two after cutting and placing it in my power filters media container that it became a rusty brown. I dont know for sure what it was absorbing but it certainly was absorbing something. The complaint I have is that despite claiming that it is easily reactivated by salt water I didnt have much success at removing the discoloration. I dont know if thats very important but all the same I couldnt get much out even in the saltiest of warm water. I even let it soak for hours and it didnt seem to affect it. Otherwise it definitely seems to work.

> 3 dayI just started planting my tanks and realized the Activated Carbon in most filters was leaving a black film on and killing my plants. I tried so many other options, finally, I found these. They work great!

Greater than one weekI love this product! I overstocked my 50g cichlid tank and as a result had a constant problem of Ammonia spikes and very high Nitrate levels. I do up to 50% water changes weekly but the problem would quickly return within a few days. I heard about Poly-Filter on YouTube and thought I would give it a try. After the first 24hrs of putting the entire 4X8 pad in my wet/dry sump, the Ammonia went from 10ppm to 0. My Nitrate was also reduced by about 50%. I did another 50% water change which reduced the Nitrate to about 5ppm. After a month, I have no more ammonia spikes and my nitrate have been holding steady at about 5-10ppm. If you overstock, which a lot of cichlid owners do, you have to try this product!
