The controls are almost impossible to understand and use. It does have a temperature which sort of works except it falls out slot. Alexa saves day as it does control my Window AC unit by time and the temperature (which is somewhat off). In the end it saved me from buying a new Window AC unit so I can control remotely. No remote control either except Alexa or their APP. App is useful for setting up and changing to Fahrenheit but controls make no sense and dont work very well.

Works good when set up but the thermostat is flimsy and difficult to program. Programming is frustrating and almost sent it back for that reason. Thermostat dropped from 1 foot to a counter top and came apart and wiped out its programming, then you have to go through it all again. Once you get it set only adjust it up and down, it is so flimsy you will need to protect the thermostat life a snowflake.

The item works okay, but chews through batteries. If batteries fail the wall socket can be left in the on position (potentially dangerous). If the remote/thermostat could be plugged into wall power, this might be 4 stars. Only other complaint is the two buttons... Makes it difficult to adjust things without referring to the manual as it needs just one more button to select what you want to change. UPDATE: The receiver gave up the ghost after 20 months. Slight ozone smell, so I think something inside fused. I wont be buying a new one of this brand.

I got the Wifi version, ordered 2 of them. One of them works very well, the other doesnt power on at all, a complete dud. The one that works was easy to pair with the Smart Life App and it works with Alexa as well. Amazon says theyre sending a replacement for the dead one and it should be here tomorrow. Im using them (well, one of them right now) to control 2 5,000 btu window air conditioners (and probably 1,000w heaters in the winter.) Make sure you dont exceed 1,100w, thats all it can take, and unfortunately most space heaters are 1,500w. Luckily, most 5k btu air conditioners only use like 400-500w on high. One criticism is that, if the unit is off, Alexa cant change the temperature setting. You have to tell her to turn it on first, then tell her to change the temp. I hope the replacement for the dud works. Well see tomorrow.

I was a bit worried because some reviews shows the device almost catching on fire so I watched it like a hawk the first week or so. Checked on it and it has always been cool at the plug. I have an old house w/o whole house heating so in my second bedroom I have a cute wood console with a heater in the middle of it. The kind that have a pretend fireplace. Anyways if I left it on the room would get too hot or if left it off too cold. This little device works great at regulating the temperature. The remote is tricky to change from Celsius to Fahrenheit but I managed. That’s the only negative. I recommend this product if something changes I’ll update.

This worked exactly as described. I do wish it had better temperature difference between off and on.

I tested the unit and it took some playing with the controller to figure out how it works and to get readout in Fahrenheit. I thought on and off buttons were to turn it on but is always on if batteries in place and are only indicator lights to let you know if heater is on or off. I like that you can put the remote in the room location that you are trying to warm,

First off…. The company that makes the product doesn’t have its name on the box. I had to look up my order details in order to try and do troubleshooting on this thermostat online. The instructions couldn’t be any vaguer and one of the complaints on their reviews was regarding the issue I was having about trying to change the settings from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Although the reviewers advice did not work for me. I shouldn’t have this much aggravation on a brand new product. Not user friendly at all.

Unit straight up failed after 2 days. No power, no lights, no control. Worked well until it didnt.

I have an electric fireplace used as a space heater in the winter, but it doesnt have a built-in thermostat. I plugged it into the Hycency outlet, paired the remote, dialed in a setpoint, and placed the remote close to my workspace. It regulated the temperature of the room nicely, switching the fireplace on and off as needed. I should note the first unit I bought arrived with a damaged LCD on the remote, but Amazon swapped the whole unit out quickly and easily. Great performance for the price!
