I got this for my dad who rehabs houses. We hooked it up to a salamander to regulate temperature instead of just turning the salamander on and off every 30 minutes. I had to look through the comments to learn how to switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Aside from that it works fine.

This actually works really well. Perfect for controlling a small space heater in a room. Only issue i had was the contacts inside the plug in were spaced to far out so it would fully hold the cord that was plugged in. I took the cover off, squeezed the contacts together and has worked great since

At first I wanted an outlet that had the thermometer built in with no remote but I must say it’s very convenient to be able to mount the remote on the wall since the temperature near the floor and near the ceiling can have as much as a 5-10 degree F difference. I actually really like that you set heat or cool, and C or F when the remote first comes on and then you remove the batteries if you need to change it because that means the remote is very simple and has only temp control buttons once it’s set up. When you change the temperature if you go above/below the temp you set it will instantly turn the outlet on. It has a high wattage rating which is great because heaters and AC units both use a lot of electricity. It seems really high quality. The things I would improve are: Including a mounting screw in the box Redesigning the back so adhesive can be used instead of a screw Making the LED light dimmer and Switching the temp control buttons so minus is left and + is right.

I have an electric fireplace used as a space heater in the winter, but it doesnt have a built-in thermostat. I plugged it into the Hycency outlet, paired the remote, dialed in a setpoint, and placed the remote close to my workspace. It regulated the temperature of the room nicely, switching the fireplace on and off as needed. I should note the first unit I bought arrived with a damaged LCD on the remote, but Amazon swapped the whole unit out quickly and easily. Great performance for the price!

    Greater than one week

After spending 5 minutes trying to figure out how to change the remote from Celsius to Fahrenheit (you have to refer to the answered questions in this listing, not the manual) I tried to plug in my space heater. It wouldnt stay plugged in. I tried other cords to see if the problem was the space heater cord or the wireless plug and found that nothing would stay plugged in. Since I have a lot of electronics experience I opened up the wireless plug to see what was wrong. None of the three contacts in the plug receptacle were griping the prongs of my plugs nor could they be made to. The material seems to made made of regular brass rather than spring brass and just give way as soon as you plug something in. I need this to control a 1,200 watt space heater and with a loose plug there is too much risk of fire. Im now looking for a different one.

Great product works well as designed. However, I wished the thermostat was located in the outlet plug in instead of the remote control. The beeping and light can be annoying for a bedroom.

Used it all summer long to control the window A/C unit it my kitchen. It seemed accurate and it definitely turned the unit off and on.

The thermostats (or lack there of) on a cheap window ac unit makes it hard to set a reasonable cooling temperature. This unit does a wonderful job. Plug in the receiver unit in the outlet, plug you ac unit, put the ac unit on a lowest cool, put the batteries I. The j it, follow the configuration, set your temperature and let’s the device turn on and off your unit as required. Doesn’t just do cold - you can use it to control an electric heater (or heat pump - I have one of these on a heat pump unit in an accessory building) as well. Highly recommend this.

Exactly what I needed. We have a window unit that will not turn off once it cycles into the cooling mode. Something with the thermostat switch. So, we bought this device in hopes it will cycle the ac unit off and on when needed. And it does exactly that. Totally worth it.
