Greater than one weekI have an electric fireplace used as a space heater in the winter, but it doesnt have a built-in thermostat. I plugged it into the Hycency outlet, paired the remote, dialed in a setpoint, and placed the remote close to my workspace. It regulated the temperature of the room nicely, switching the fireplace on and off as needed. I should note the first unit I bought arrived with a damaged LCD on the remote, but Amazon swapped the whole unit out quickly and easily. Great performance for the price!

> 3 dayTwo preventable design flaws: 1) instead of making the device wide and short, they’ve made it circular and bulky in a way that partially covers two receptacle outlets instead of one… the thermometer port is also positioned on the bottom of the device in such a way that prevents other plugs from sharing your receptacle. 2) the app has a bunch of poorly labeled settings, random use of underscores in naming, and just feels like it was designed by an engineer and not a designer. Overall, lackluster product for the price.

> 3 dayIt is an Inexpensive alternative of smart thermostat. I use it to control my tower heater, So that I can avoid over heating problem that I had previously. The temperature is not super accurate, but it do the job. I would recommend this if you live in a rental property where you cant use a smart thermostat.

> 3 dayDoes what it says. One issue Im having is that I set a schedule in the app where it turns off when I leave a distance from home, turns back on upon return. Unfortunately, it just turns on to manual setting, it doesnt go back to the set programmed schedule. I have written the company asking for this update, hasnt happened yet. So, now my schedule gets turned off automatically if I leave the vicinity, and I have to manually turn back on when I return. Kinda annoying.

24-11-2024I got the Wifi version, ordered 2 of them. One of them works very well, the other doesnt power on at all, a complete dud. The one that works was easy to pair with the Smart Life App and it works with Alexa as well. Amazon says theyre sending a replacement for the dead one and it should be here tomorrow. Im using them (well, one of them right now) to control 2 5,000 btu window air conditioners (and probably 1,000w heaters in the winter.) Make sure you dont exceed 1,100w, thats all it can take, and unfortunately most space heaters are 1,500w. Luckily, most 5k btu air conditioners only use like 400-500w on high. One criticism is that, if the unit is off, Alexa cant change the temperature setting. You have to tell her to turn it on first, then tell her to change the temp. I hope the replacement for the dud works. Well see tomorrow.

> 3 dayAs of its first fire up and use, good. Pain in the rear to set up. Even folloqing the instructions. I purchased this to control the torpedo heater in my barn while Im working. Previously I had to let it run until it was 80 then unplug. Wait until it was too cold to be comfortable, plug back in (no on/off switch). Wash rinse repeat 100 times a day, lol. Set the target temp (after much fighting) to 50°. Kicked off at 51.1°. Plenty close enough. Kicked back on at 49.1°. Perfect. Manual On and Off seem to work well also. We will see how it holds up but I am happy so far.

> 3 dayThe problem with using a small space heater is that they either get the room too hot or they constantly short cycle because their own heat triggers their thermostat. You set your space heater to full heat and then plug the heater into the remote outlet. Then put the thermostat somewhere away from the heater in the space you’re wanting to heat and set the temperature you want. The heater will run until you temperature is met. It might take a little getting used to what the thermostat says as to what you want it to be but once you get that figured out, it’s a great little device!

Greater than one weekMeh, seems to work okay, like everyone has said you have to fumble around with it for a few to figure out how to work everything. Plug is not that great, made with low quality plastic, had to bend the prongs on the heater I have plugged in to keep the plug in the socket. Loose fit.

> 3 dayWorks good when set up but the thermostat is flimsy and difficult to program. Programming is frustrating and almost sent it back for that reason. Thermostat dropped from 1 foot to a counter top and came apart and wiped out its programming, then you have to go through it all again. Once you get it set only adjust it up and down, it is so flimsy you will need to protect the thermostat life a snowflake.

> 3 dayI read all of the concerns and I found it easy to set up...<1 minute and it works great. I use it ON/OFF to turn on an electric heater in the bedroom and then turn it off when its time for lights out! I do not use the thermostat so I did not have some issues others did.
