I am a big fan of low profile keyboards. Use it to work and play. This particular one has a good value for the money, good quality, great size and shape. My biggest disappointment was the sound of the keys. It is not even: some keys sound less loud and some are very noisy and irritating. The space bar is wobbling a bit and makes a cheap sound. The backspace key makes the most loud sound in the universe, I try to avoid using it at night. I would go with membrane only option if Razer had it in TKL edition, but they don’t.

Ive had this keyboard for a month after an unfortunate water accident ruined my old mechanical keyboard, I didnt notice this was a membrane keyboard and it took some getting used to BUT it functions OK, I had a little problem with one of the keys not wanting to function with a light touch but its seemed to fix its self. I DO notice that my D key is starting to lose its finish, the letter D is starting to flake off and show the clear medium underneath. I really like the magnetic wrist helper to straighten my arm while im playing games, will help a lot in the long run with repetitive motion injuries etc. The lighting is customizable and bright, I like the sound controls, its very handy.

Good keyboard, very bright and pretty loud. Ive had it for around 2 days now and I found some damage in the material used to cover the shift key. Pretty lousy in my opinion but it is what it is.

The ornate chroma is a great keyboard that does what it’s meant to do and does it exceptionally well. Although there are some noticeable flaws, (especially gaming) the pros outweigh the cons and I would recommend this keyboard to anybody who is able to raise their budget a bit. PROS: The RGB lighting adds a TON of flare to your gaming setup, and the customization is great. The ergonomic wrist rest is very comfortable and plush, but needs some cleaning every once in a while. When pressing down on a key, you get a pretty good tactile click which is similar to a mechanical keyboards. The 3.0 Synapse software is excellent with customization with the keyboard and is very user friendly. The keyboard overall looks great overall and it does not slide around on my desk, although it may slide around on your desk depending on what material its made out of. The braided thick cable is long and durable, and I have not had any issues with it. CONS: Obviously the price. Even though it was 80$ when I bought the keyboard itself, I still feel like the keyboard was not worth 80$. Im not saying the keyboard is bad, its great. Im just saying it is a bit overpriced for what you are getting. Although I like the mecha-membrane keys that Razer offers with this keyboard, the actuation force to press down on a key is heavier than a lot of keyboards I used. Its not a deal breaker, and it doesnt affect overall typing, but when gaming you will notice it and your hands may get tired after a while.

-Keys are very responsive -Colors are vibrant if rgb is enabled -Very Ergonomic, no wrist or finger pain when using keyboard for long periods of time. -Wrist plate is magnetic, which is a nice touch. -Keys can be a bit loud when typing fast but that is to be expected.

Ive had a pretty good experience with Razer products in general, so I decided to upgrade from my old Razer keyboard (Anansi), to the new Ornata Chroma which was on sale. Of course the big selling feature with the Ornata Chroma is that the keyboard uses a mecha membrane key system. When each key is pressed down, the feeling is similar to that of a clicky mechanical keyboard. Typing feels much better compared to my old membrane keyboard. And since it uses a membrane instead of individual mechanical keys, the price is kept down. Lighting The main reason why I bought this keyboard was for the illuminated keys. The keys appear to float over the RGB lighting giving it a really cool look. The actual keys themselves have their letters lit - but the font size is rather thin, so the lighting through letters can appear a bit dim compared to other competing keyboards. Still, the keys are readily readible in the dark - which works for me. Typing I really like the feel of the typing with this keyboard. I didnt want to spend the money for a real mechanical keyboard with RBG lighting (like the Black Window or the Huntsman), so this suits me nicely. All the keys feel great when I type long emails or documents. Gaming Ive played mainly FPS games and MMOs with this keyboard and it feels really comfortable. Other than the sticky issue (see below), gaming with this keyboard is good. Razer customer service helping with problems Initially I had no problems with the Ornata Chroma. I liked it so much I ended up with three of them - one for my home PC, another for my office PC, and lastly one for a family member. However, after a week 1 of the 3 keyboards started having sticky keys. I would press down on some keys and they would not return back up after the initial keystroke. This didnt happen that often, but it was very annoying when it did. Thankfully this only plagued one of the keyboards- the other two were just fine. I tired to fix the issue myself by cleaning the key swtches, but eventually the keys would still stick down. I ended contacting Razers customer service. Although I had to send the keyboard back to them via Fedex (they provided the paid shipping box), the customer service was very smooth - all during a holiday break - which was quite unexpected. They literally responded to every email I sent within 1 day, and usually it was with an actual person addressing my needs specifically. The unit I received back was a brand new Ornata Chroma and it works perfectly. Conclusion In the end, I feel that my experience with this keyboards sticky keys is rare occurance - due to all the positive reviews that Ive seen. And if you do have any issues, Id say that their customer service will definitely take care of you. The Ornata Chroma is a really good deal for the feel of mechanical keyboard, response of a gaming keyboard, and the fully customizable lighting that Razer provides.

Awesome. Love the mid-height keys and the way each key-press sounds. Imbues confidence, without sounding too much like cheap plastic as other mech keyboards do. Ive been a Logitech fan through and through, but I needed a work keyboard that checks all the boxes above. Hard to go back to non-mech when youre so used to the reliability of buttons designed with precision and reliability in mind. Plus, one thats much easier to clean compared to the typical scissor switch keyboard! (Oh, god...) Anyway, summary: 1. Very solid keys. Easy to remove and clean in solution 2. Solid construction. Chassis itself is sturdy without looking too foo-foo for a place of work. 3. Key presses sound like automotive dip switches (if youre familiar with what that sounds like). Put it this way - you dont hear the keys, you hear the switch ;) Not cheapo Microsoft-sounding plastic keyboard at all. Totally classy, and would probably make people look over cubes and say, what on Earth are you typing on? 4. Customizations on backlight color schemes make it very adaptible to any environment. Again, if using in a workplace, you dont want to call attention to yourself. Or worse, give people a reason to oogle over your personal stuff after youre out the door. 5. The wrist pad is a very nice touch. Feels like premium over-ear monitor (headphone) leather. Its pliant, light, but doesnt tear as easily. 6. Did I say, its fantastically easy to clean??! Final note - that cult callout in the headline, thats a play on the welcome card thats in the packaging. Seems Razer really puts a lot of care and detail into their products and it shows. Packaging itself feels premium, and the instruction card - something that used to be common but now rare - its thick, and in propa EngRish! Kidding aside, spending this moderate price for a gaming keyboard definitely made me feel like I was buying quality. Like buying Ultimate Ears instead of Logitech. (Yes, thats an obvious pun, but not a jab. Still much love for Logi.)

I didn’t think it would be as bad as some of the reviews said it was but it definitely requires a lot of pressure to press the keys. It’s literally just like pressing buttons lol uncomfortable and awkward and for what I play I need to have quick key inputs wish I could detach my laptop screen from its keyboard because I like the fluidity of the keys. My fault for cheaping out I guess. It’s more like an office keyboard than a gaming one
