Repticare Infared Ceramic Heat Emitter (100 watt)

when i put this in to my dome lamp and turn it on it smells like it’s going to catch on fire. why is this? did i receive a defective bulb??

Works well for heating my bearded dragon without having any visible light. I use this with the zilla temperature controller without any problems.

Keeps my turtle happy and warm when he wants to be.

The heater i received was defective, having crushed threads(box was not crushed, so this was a manufacturer defect). Zoomed had a great no-hassle return policy. The replacement was packed with great care, and works perfectly!

Ran for about 4 months and died. The hoops you have to jump through for a warranty replacement are ridiculous, and most of it has to be done as soon as you get it.

I purchased this back in March of 2013 to be used in a fermentation chamber for home brew. I took an old 22-cubic foot chest freezer and installed this with a dual stage temperature controller that would assure me a consistent ambient temperature for my primary, secondary and bottle conditioning fermentation phases. Just this past weekend the original heat emitter passed away - almost three years to the day. I figure that we got close to over 15,000 hours of use (warming the fermentation chamber to approximately 72 degrees.) We definitely got our moneys worth and I just purchased a new one that arrived today. Hopefully itll last this long as well.

Well, it makes things warm and it doesnt make light. My Ball Python is very happy with this product. Hes not a fan of the light, hes a bit of a hermit so being able to be warm without being in the spotlight makes him a happy reptile.

They make good ceramic heaters and the usually last longer than the package states
