Always turn your reptiles lights off at night if they need to be kept warm use this it works really good and doesnt have any light its just dark I mean you wouldnt want to sleep with the lights on would you a reptile needs 12 on and 12 off of light put it in a dimmer switch so that you can control what temperature that you need it you can also find the dimmer switch ceramic dome light on Amazon only use ceramic domes so that you dont have a fire

Product is as described and works great, the only downside was that this was a part of a very necessary and urgent heat source setup for my Hedgehog, considering the -30°F week weve had, and 2-day shipping turned into 6 days.

I use these on all of my reptile cages. Ceramic heat emitters work so much better (and last so much longer) than light bulbs. Definitely worth the investment!

so far so good. Replaces one that lasted a little over 2 years.

These things get a 5 star rating for longevity. They last FOREVER. They dont put out a crazy amount of heat though. I have mine over a 2 gallon hermit crab tank with the Zoo Med Deluxe Porcelain Clamp Lamp with 8.5-Inch Dome, Black. It sits about 1 foot above our thermometer, our house is at 68 degrees, and the thermometer in the cage is at about 85 degrees right now. If we put the heater right on top of the cage it would only be about 9 inches above the thermometer and hit 90 degrees or more in the cage.

I have always used Zoo Med for my bearded dragons. There are no issues keeping the cage at the appropriate temperature thanks to the consistency of the bulb. They are competitively priced and manufactured well.
