> 3 dayUses standard Edison type base (screw in like 60W light bulbs). Nice output power. Using it to keep chickens hen-house warm during winter months to extend the laying cycle. One warning, 150W unit can easily burn through wood. Chickens knocked this fixture loose from its mounting and burned one of their nesting boxes up. Great unit!

> 3 dayI love my CHE (ceramic heat emitter) the price may seem prohibitive but they last forever and are cheap to power! Good Points: -do not require very much electricity to run so are very cheap -depending in the lamp fixture you use they can heat either a small basking area or a decent portion of a tank Downside: -they get really really hot (281 degrees F on the bulb)! be sure that they are very stable-ly rigged to or above your tank so that they cannot fall easily, as they could be a MAJOR FIRE HAZARD if they were to fall on fabric or some carpets -make sure that the screen of your tank is not plastic mesh if it is do not put a lamp with this bulb directly on top, it will eventually melt Please note: Try to minimize touching the bulb directly as the oil on your fingers will shorten the life of the bulb As long as these are safely used they are fantastic and I cannot recommend them enough, they are so much more environmentally friendly then replacing heating light after heating light

> 3 dayI’ve used these Ceramic heat emitters for years and have never had to replace one because of failure. I have only replaced them to get higher wattage because I’ve increased the distance from emitter to animal. I feel very comfortable using them but I do follow the recommendations of using a wire cage fixture with porcelain socket and not a dome. I also have them plugged into thermostats to regulate the heat. They are 3-5/8 in diameter and stick out of the socket about 3. In my opinion, this is an excellent product for the reptile hobbyist.

> 3 daybut it worked really well as an addition to my kale chip set up. I got this bulb and a small fan so I could make raw Kale Chips in my oven and not have to spend $$ on a fancy dehydrator.

> 3 dayI love Zoo Med products! I have a 5ft long x 3ft deep x 7ft high enclosure for my water dragon. I have this running on the Zoo Med ReptiTemp 500R thermostat. It cycles on and off and maintains my enclosure at 85F easily.

Greater than one weekI place it in my house and it is so powerful that it just heat my whole house up and I got so dry that I cannot use it anymore. I return the item after using it for a day. I think you dont want to see your pets skin crack because of extreme dryness.
