I do not recommend. These dont look like the images. They look and feel like cheap plastic toys. If you must buy one, I think this looks the best thanks to the solid matte color. But it has the same under whelming feeling when using. Back to the appearance, have you ever been to the drug store and seen the cheap toys on the shelf. Thats what these remind me of. The feel of some buttons is decent, but could be better. I cant trust that it will last for a long time. I didnt listen to the warnings of other reviews. I cant believe Sega agreed to allow them to make these. Please save your money. Dont buy.

I just purchased a SEGA Genesis® 8-Button Arcade Pad - 2.4 GHz Wireless - Black from amazon.com. The first game I tried to play was X-Men 2: Clone Wars on Sega Genesis. In that game if you have a mutant like Gambit that throws cards you can hold the A button and move the directional pad to point where you want to fire then release A button to throw the cards. With this controller if you hold the A button and press in any direction Gambit will throw the card as if you released the A button but the A button was not released. I tried to play it in 6 and 3 button configuration and I tried resetting the controller by the tiny hole in the back but it still does it. I have contacted Retro Bit customer support and will update this review if a fix is found. Update: retro bit released a firmware that fixed my issue.

Purchased two of these wireless controllers and both do not work on two different Genesis mini consoles. I also have the wired versions and they work flawlessly. Stick with the wired controllers for your Genesis mini.

Works great and feel just as authentic as a Sega Genesis Controller from the past.

Great controller that is almost identical to the 90s counterpart. One of my 2 controllers came with a bad USB cable, but other than that they are great.

I originally purchased this as a departure from my usual 8bitdo brand as this was the official wireless controller for the Genesis Mini (and I was concerned my usual brand wouldn’t be compatible). When I first got it, it worked great! I generally play for short stints (30 to 45 min) a couple times a week, and I didn’t have any issues; the buttons and d-pad feel responsive and sharp, the controller is lightweight, and battery is sufficient. After 2 months of light use, imagine my surprise to find that the battery no longer carries a charge for longer than a day or two! Every time I want to play I have to plug the controllers into MicroUsb for a solid hour+ I’m very disappointed in the quality control

Enjoying this thing on orginal hardware. Feels like the old wire controllers really knocked it out of the park and worth every penny. One thing I dislike it gave my model 2 a malfunction when it powered on when I had the mini USB in since I thought it needed a power supply. Unplugged all the power and it still showed the Genesis having the red light and powered on.

The build quality is amazing. Comes with two receivers, so you can play in your original Sega Genesis too. The d-pad is absolutely awesome, this is the best controller to play 16 bit games ever made
