Greater than one weekI originally purchased this as a departure from my usual 8bitdo brand as this was the official wireless controller for the Genesis Mini (and I was concerned my usual brand wouldn’t be compatible). When I first got it, it worked great! I generally play for short stints (30 to 45 min) a couple times a week, and I didn’t have any issues; the buttons and d-pad feel responsive and sharp, the controller is lightweight, and battery is sufficient. After 2 months of light use, imagine my surprise to find that the battery no longer carries a charge for longer than a day or two! Every time I want to play I have to plug the controllers into MicroUsb for a solid hour+ I’m very disappointed in the quality control

Greater than one weekSo recently I got the Mega SG from Analogue. Ive been using my official old wired 6 Button Genesis controller. But you know I wanted to try a wireless option. I saw that these were also officially licensed by Sega so I was like sure Ill give them a shot. And I must say Im extremely impressed. While the buttons and D-pad were slightly stiffer than a 25+ year old controller, the weight and feel of it were nearly identical. So much so I actually forgot I wasnt using my old wired controller and was using the new controller I bought. Just because it wasnt as loose as my original pad, doesnt mean it didnt perform just as well, and in a similar function. No D-pad issues, no button issues. No problems doing SRKs and Hadoukens in Street Fighter. It also is extremely fast to sync up. Over all Id give the controller a 10 out of 10. For being extremely faithful to the original, no input delay that I could tell, and it was extremely easy syncing up with the receivers. Though admittedly Ive only used the Genesis receiver, and not the usb one that also came with it. My only minor issue I had was trying to update the firmware in the Genesis Receiver. But it ended up working in the end, and was actually probably my computer, more so than the devices fault.

> 3 dayThis is a great controller and it feels almost exactly like my original 6-button Genesis pads, but unfortunately, it’s almost useless for the “Sega Genesis Classics” game on the Switch. The problem is the buttons aren’t mapped to mirror the the original 6-button controller, they map to a Nintendo style A, B, X, Y, L, R layout. You can’t “customize” the controls in any of the Classics games either, so there’s nothing you can do about it. It’s probably great on the Genesis or a retron Genesis system, but do not buy this for that “Sega Classics” Switch game, you’ll be highly disappointed. 4 stars for the quality. 1 docked for it not being clearly stated in the description that it can’t be used as an apples-to-apples version of the original 6-button controller.

22-11-2024I love that they kept the original design. Original is on the left and the one bought is on right. It is slightly slimmer and smaller than the original but we didnt feel like it was lacking in any way. No issues with connecting to our sega and plan to use with the switch and computer in the future!

> 3 dayOverall pretty nice. I ordered two and only one seems to work wirelessly though. This isnt a major issue but I am slightly disappointed.

> 3 dayGreat product from RetroBit. This is almost an exact duplicate of the original controller produced by Sega. Obviously, I say that, because some buttons have been added. Aside, the Gloss/Piano finish, sections of the controller, are not quite as dense as the original... And, it is a plastic that scratches really easily, generally speaking. It actually had some subtle scratches on it, straight out of the box. Thats why I wish companies would stop using that plastic. Sure, it looks nice... But, you look at it, wrong, and it scratches. That would be my only reason for docking a point off the Quality Of Material rating. Other than that, the quality build, is good. Now, aside quality of material and build... This is, hands down, the best Sega Genesis controller, youre going to find, today. Its the most responsive, well built, reliable, Genesis controller on the market, today. The Buttons have just the right amount of click. Theres no latency, once so ever. The charge hold, is great. The reciever range is great. The Genesis had very few games that allowed for use of the shoulder buttons. And, unfortunately, there is no button mapping feature, to allow for more use of the shoulder buttons. Aside minor gripes... I highly recommend this controller.

> 3 dayVery good presentation with a dedicated case and a 90s-looking packaging, the built quality is excellent and works without any hassle. If you are a Genesis fan, it is a must-have item.
