> 24 hourI previously owned a VHS to digital converter that I liked really well, but it only worked on my really old Dell desktop (circa 2003). But when the video card died in it, I tried to install it on my new laptop and it wouldnt work. Thus, I tried this product because I didnt want to waste a lot of money buying an entirely new kit with a VCR which I didnt need since it came with my last kit. Onto this product: PROS: 1) Simple install (pop the disc in and follow prompts, or go to their Web Site and download the software). Plug converter into your computer and (USING YOUR OWN RCA or S CABLE) plug into your camcorder or VCR. (I ended up buying a cable from Walmart for about $8.00 to make it work) 2) Fairly simple user interface: The screen is pretty self-explanatory. Large record button, and tabs across the top tell you which part youre on in the process. CONS: 1) It wont let you change the name of your video file once you have started recording. For several of my first attempts, I didnt see the place to put the name in until after Id started, but it wont let you change it in the program. 2) Progream seems simple enough to use, however, it DOESNT work properly! I successfully transferred 2 tapes then went to do the 3rd one. I have tried FOUR times now. It looks like its recording then when it automatically stops at the end of the tape (good feature theoretically), the program gets forever stuck on the finishing step. I literally let it sit there for more than 2 hours to finish a 30 min video recording and it never did! I had to force a shutdown, which of course lost the video Id recorded. Over and over again this happened. I am so fed up Im ready to return it and buy another one! This is ridiculous and I never had problems with my old one! 3) Video quality is terrible. Again, using the VCR from my previous purchase, which includes the lovely old-school tracking buttons to try to get rid of those annoying lines across the tape, I have had ZERO success it making any tangible difference to the tape quality. And from my previous lovely four attempts on the same video (from 1999), I can tell you how incredibly INCONSISTENT the video quality is on the program! Some attempts were much clearer than others, and i had to keep rewinding to try to get to the start of the tape again and when it re-recorded, the lines would be across the entire thing all of a sudden (when they werent there before) or the video would freeze, even though the tape was clearly still playing behind it! AND, it kept cutting out as though there is a short in the cord. The screen would just suddenly flash no video feed detected even though it was still playing. It was usually only for a second or two, but sometimes was as long as 10 seconds or longer. Ridiculous!! Both this product and the RCA cable I used, were BRAND NEW. I suppose there is a chance that the RCA cable from Walmart was defective, but I have no way of knowing that. 4) Claims to be able to export video files in MPEG, which is what I wanted since I will be sharing these home video files with family who own a variety of equipment to view them on, but that feature doesnt work either! (and my laptop is a year old, so it isnt that) It will only allow me to export a video file in WMV which makes it specific to windows users without a conversion program. So...overall, dont waste your money. Go the more expensive route and get the entire system with the included VCR rather than this piece of junk. If i even bother to try to keep using it, its going to take me another 20 years to get the small box of tapes transferred to digital (if it ever works.)

> 24 hourI have windows 10 and kept getting the no video signal signal error. I tried the tech support (Corel) but it took almost 3 weeks before they got back to me and by then I had figured it out. Once it is up and running it works well enough. The software editing is pretty basic but it does the job. *If you are getting the no video signal error its a windows setting. Go to search and type privacy. Scroll down to App Permissions and turn on Camera Control and Microphone Control. This should be in the general help section but is not and would have saved me a few days of messing around.* Pros: Works decent, easy to use, no software key needed just have to plug the device in when downloading the software Cons: Can be more difficult to set up on Windows 10 than it needs to be, Tech support

> 24 hourIm Digitizing all og my media. Prior to purchasing this Roxio device I was transferring my VHSs to DVD and then to digital. I got tired of buying Blank DVDs, so, I bought a cheap Converter. It didnt work. The video was all scrambled and distorted, like the tapes were Macro protected. I purchased th Roxio Easy VHS to DVD 3 Plus and It worked perfectly right out of the box, with no problems.

> 24 hourI have a old canon zr100 camcorder that I used to transfer my mini dvd tapes thru my dvd/vcr player. However it no longer works on the dvd side. I was looking for something to easily transfer the tapes thru the computer to a dvd disc. I tried a couple other capture cards that would not work on any of my computers ( I have 3) But, this one was so easy to hook up and use and I have to thank a you tube video or I would never have thought about buying. I would recommend this!!!! I can honestly say it is that simple to use I did not need any tech advise and I am not that great anymore at connecting things to make them work! Thumbs Up for sure on this!

> 24 hourWish there was a spot for ZERO stars in this product review screen. Before anyone asks, no, I did not contact tech support ... this software was so bad, I knew better. Please take some friendly advice of myself and many others ... DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, unless you enjoy hours and hours of frustration, Windows PC restarts, and horrible application software which is SO full of bugs and very unstable ... basically USELESS. I assumed this POS would at least simply import video from my old mini-DV and Hi8 tapes from when the kids were young. Nope! Installation was rough, and took a few tries. After it finally completed the installation, as usual, I go and set some figurations and tailor this to my setup here. Most decent software allows such changes and then saves them as future defaults ... you know, like LOCATION TO SAVE YOUR CAPTURE FILES. Nope again, any settings are lost when you exit or restart (which had to be done several times each day), no matter what you changed, none of the settings stick and it goes back to saving your capture files ... who knows where sometimes, very inconsistent indeed. Save your money, and just purchase the cheapest USB to RCA video/audio capture device on Amazon, and download OSB for your software. It is TREMENDOUS and very easy to use.

> 24 hourI did my research on this one, compared the brands I could find on amazon and stuck with roxio, have used there products before and will again. Very easy to use, picture will come out the same as your tapes no way to improve on them. Did not find any dvds that it would not work with, I had some old ones that still recorded. If your looking to move your tapes to dvd this is the way. Saves the files so you can record more than one dvd from your pc or laptop. At about ten dollars a pop from retailers who do it for you its easy to save big money if you have a lot of tapes. would buy again.
