    Greater than one week

I had previously had a 2x27 Samsung S27D590P dual monitor setup for about 6 years until one of them gave up the ghost a few weeks ago (backlight across the top went out). So I was finally able to have the excuse to upgrade to a 32 with Freesync. Took at a look at the G7 32 but wasnt keen on the severe curve and seven hundred plus price point, then I found this 32 G5 with the same curve, laugh, but hundreds cheaper. Looked to be pretty new, not too many reviews so I took a flier on it. The 32 wasnt even on Samsungs monitor page yet but it was intriguing. When it came and was opened up it was really light to carry and move around. Installation of the stand was dead simple with just a screw on the bottom you could tighten yourself by hand if inclined. The curve actually helped make the fit on the desk a bit more manageable as it wasnt as wide as it would have been straightened out. It overwhelmed my remaining 27 (see pics) and sat higher being a bigger panel. I connected via Display Port (the second cable worked, the AmazonBasics one caused input drops and eventually put the panel to sleep, very weird, see separate review for that). My 5600XT and its Radeon software detected the monitor and switched Freesync on on the monitor itself. Now my main fun use case for this monitor is playing classic arcade games via MAME which Ive been involved with since 1997. Most golden era arcade games output non-60Hz refresh rates so it was AMAZING to finally be able to play these games without tricks to compensate for the non-standard refresh rates. Things like Mortal Kombat at 54.70684Hz and Pac-Man at 60.6060Hz immediately improved as you could observe smooth scrolling and a distinct lack of tearing. Every game I threw at it played silky smooth, so nice. For other tasks its similarly impressive. If you stay at 100% Windows 10 scaling you can get more headroom onscreen than 1080p as this is a 1440p panel. So far Ive been very happy with the monitor, especially at the sub $400 price point. Recommended. (j4.) [Update 2020.11.09] My other 27 Samsung died also recently (both within a month of each other!) So I bought a second G5 and have them next to each other on the desk in a nice extended curve. Nice to have a matched dual monitor setup again both at the same 1440 resolution. Second panel working as well as the first so far, no dead pixels on either thankfully.

The curve is great. The monitor works well. But the screen is coming off the top of the curve.

I liked the monitor. The screen was cracked when I received it. It had nothing to do with the company. It is a great company. It had to do with the shipping. I guess the shipping associates were rough with the package and just threw it around or something, so I had to return it. I cant really comment on the quality of the screen or picture because I didnt get a chance to see/use it. I did, however, hear that it is great for gaming.

for the price of a 32 curved monitor. its pretty decent when running average games but not for higher quality beefy games. you will have to spend a bit more on pixel amount for the type of monitor

I really enjoy the monitor itself, however the manufactures made big mistake with original stand is glaring. Along with the purchase of this monitor I also bought a swing arm mount to use instead on the original stand. I first assembled the monitor and validated that it was working. See that everything was working i removed the original stem and legs and I then mounted it on the new swing arm.. At this point the monitor would no longer turn on. I contacted vendor support via chat to troubleshoot (which was limited to the basics of is it plugged in, didnt you use the right button, etc..) After unsuccessful chat, I requested an exchanged, which Amazon getting high marks for. Upon reciept of replacement, to my surprise, this one doesnt come on either. I decided too try a hunch and was amazed and dishearten to find that the original stands stem has to be attached!!! This is total nonsense!! Its looks like crap! I had expected more from Samsung!

I like this monitor, its different from 1080p and you can see a visual different between the two, when I got my panel I hadnt noticed the deadpixels on the right and top of the display until two days later. My only gripe about the display is that you CANNOT enable freesync and change the response time of the display, so when you use freesync its a blurry mess. Though thats all the bad stuff, the good stuff is that it is a pretty nice display, good for watching videos and gaming, picture is clear and good!

This monitor, the G5, is a huge upgrade from my old ASUS VS228. The 144hz is smooth and makes games feel much more responsive (when I can run them that well). The FreeSync works with GSync on my GTX 1660 Super, and makes everything feel even smoother. It gets plenty bright, and the configuration menus are very easy to navigate with the fairly intuitive power button/navigation stick. I was definitely confused from the reviews here before. The G7 reviews are also available on this page, which is not often made clear. There is no LED on the back of the G5, just the small light by the power button to indicate on/off working modes. The HDR is honestly lackluster. It does provide a slightly higher dynamic range and makes available things like HDR-compatible YouTube videos, but it washes out lots of the colors. Everything will generally look better if you just keep HDR off in Windows settings. The reviews I’ve seen here seem to indicate that the HDR on the G7 is much nicer, so I’ll be considering upgrading to that when I can. Overall, this is a great choice for people looking for 1440p or 144hz gaming/content. This monitor does of course have flaws, and it can be frustrating to find out what those are through the disorganized reviews here. Hopefully you see this review and it sheds some more light on this product!

Bought by my son. He absolutely LOVES this monitor. Says there’s definitely a difference in gaming clarity. And the price was reasonable.

This monitor is fine, i just gotta figure out how to configure the colors more precicely. The only thing is, when you turn off the PC the monitor makes very high pitched two tone sound. It is unlikely many will hear this sound, you would only hear it if you were in complete silence like late at night. I guess its the standby tone listening for input signal for when the PC turn on. Its not annoying, but it is there if your hearing lets you hear things in that range.

For context, Im coming from using an ASUS VG248Q, and this monitor is an upgrade in (almost) every way. TL;DR: Compared to the other 1440p 144hz 27-inch monitors out there, this one is a great value for those who want to upgrade to a larger or higher resolution monitor but cant quite afford the more expensive ones. Positives: + Build quality is A+, it doesnt feel cheaply assembled. + The anti-reflective coating on the front does a decent job at getting rid of reflections. + The colors look pretty accurate and have some vibrancy without feeling oversaturated. + The black equalizer, which seems to adjust the backlight brightness based on the content on-screen to make black levels deeper, works pretty well and isnt distracting most of the time. Only when there is a rapid change from black to white does it feel distracting. + All the settings out-of-the-box gave me the best picture, I didnt find the need to change anything Mediocre: ~ The response times are what youd expect from a VA panel, in that theyre better than an IPS display but worse than a TN panel. Leaving the response time set to the Faster seems to be the best option. Even the Fastest (MBR) mode, which strobes the backlight for less trailing and faster perceived response times, was jarring and looked worse to me. ~ It might be because I have a NVIDIA card, but the AMD FreeSync setting, which does work on my card, seemed to make the response time worse and didnt seem to provide a noticeable benefit to screen-tearing. Probably best to leave it off unless you have an AMD card. ~ The curve. Its a very tight curve, and coming from a flat screen it was pretty jarring at first. However, Ive quickly gotten used to it. The most its made me uncomfortable was quick horizontal movement on-screen, whether in a top-down game or in a first-person game. However, Ive gotten used to this as well, so I wouldnt consider it a downside. It does make it a bit easier to see the whole display edge to edge. Negative: - The stand. Its extremely barebones and definitely where they saved cost. Its just a fixed height stand with no swivel, no rotation - only tilt. - The on-screen display and the control nub. The joystick on the bottom of the monitor feels like the cheapest part of the monitor, and the OSD is, to me, pretty ugly. - The auto-switching between the two inputs, DP and HDMI, was hit or miss for me. Overall, Im extremely satisfied with this monitor and dont regret purchasing it. Even if I didnt purchase it on sale, I still would have been satisfied. The response times are acceptable for the price you pay, and even in competitive first-person shooters its not distracting to me. I only wish that it came with a better stand - height adjust would have gone a long way as a taller person. I recommend it to anyone looking to move into the next tier of monitors but arent ready to spend upwards of $400.

When it comes to gamer performance, the slightest disadvantage can be the difference between winning and losing a match. With a 165Hz refresh rate, lightning fast 1ms (GTG) response time and AMD FreeSync Premium support, you can be sure that the Odyssey G55A Gaming Monitor won’t let you down on the battlefield. Awe-inspiring graphics with HDR10 uncover the secrets hiding in the shadows with deep dark blacks, luminous whites, and outstandingly detailed resolution. WQHD packs in 1.7x pixel density of Full HD for detailed, pin-sharp, lifelike images. The monitor’s futuristic design looks attractive in any desktop setting.
