Overall, I really like this monitor. The picture quality is amazing. The main gripe I have is the single function button. This would be fine when the monitor is on. However, this also serves as the power on/off button. In case the engineers didnt know, or forgot, an on-screen menu doesnt appear when the monitor is off. The other gripe is the stand provided for this monitor. In order to turn this monitor on, you have to press the button once, rock it forward once, then press the button again. It is fiddly at the best of times, Other times, youll be rocking and clicking the button like youre mining for bitcoin. There should be a separate power button for the monitor. You really want to consider mounting this monitor rather than using the provided stand. While the stand does work, you will notice A LOT of wobble on the monitor due to the weight and the stand being located in the back, on the bottom. I personally feel that when you start getting larger than 28 monitors, you really need to provide a more stable, centralized stand. Overall, this is still a great buy for the price. Im very happy overall and would recommend the monitor to others. Just keep in mind the single button issue.

Overall it is an excellent monitor. Comes in at 144hz but you can easily overclock to 165hz and it stays stable. Samsung has quality products and I havent really had many issues with the screen. I do love the curve and the size of this monitor. Cons: Compared to my 1440p Dell monitor the colors are slightly washed even after adjusting the settings. (Not a deal breaker it still looks good just noticeable against my other monitor) Some backlight bleed through on very dark scenes. Overall 4/5 stars especially because it was only 270 bucks when I bought it so for that price it is well worth it. The G7 is obviously a better model but the price reflects that. For most gamers this model will be more than enough. I dont notice much screen tearing on FPS games or sports games which is nice so the response time is actually what it says it is. I havent had any durability issues as some others have stated in reviews. I however do not use the stand it comes with but a vesa mount from my desk.

Noticed crescent shaped defect out of the box. I didnt notice the 2 dead pixels until a contrasting color was on screen. Im very disappointed with this mainly because this is my SECOND samsung monitor with a manufacturer defect AND dead pixels. I also recently purchased a samsung G7 32 inch (the much nicer and MORE EXPENSIVE model) and it had a line in the screen and a dead pixel. Im very disappointed in the QC with these orders.

Talk about a great monitor. I was skeptical about the curve but it works really well with 32inchs. Great blacks. Decent colors. Minimal light bleed. Hdr colors are correct, I do think its only hdr400 thought so you are losing some detail are arent going to get the full feature of hdr. But thankfully its not washed out. I do have some nitpics. Settings are shared between ports and between the hdr settings. This mainly comes into effect when I use Hdr on my ps4. Normally, the black level would be normal, except for hdr which needs the low setting. Its kind of a pain to remember to switch between the 2 but its not a deal breaker. Another nitpick is that this monitor doesnt accept 4k resolutions. So if you are expecting to plug in a ps4 pro and expect to use that, this isnt the right monitor for you. I guess it doesnt recognize the hdmi2.0 output, or perhaps the firmware is preventing it. Which is a shame because previously I had an lg 32in 2k monitor that could accept a 4k signal and display it. And a Dell 1080p monitor that would accept a 4k signal. The only reason these are nitpicks is because there could probably be fixed with a firmware update if samsung bothers to. Update: After using this monitor for awhile I have decided to return it. A few reasons: 1: the fact it was only 1440p was becoming obvious. The grain of the monitor come into focus alot more than the actual image 1.5: Its not 4k. Kind of nitpicky, but hear me out. I used this monitor for more than just pc gaming. I used it for everything. And the problem became that I could use features on the ps4 pro that I own. God of war, ghost of tsushima all looked blurry because it locks you out of using 4k. Which make sense. Its a 1440p monitor. The problem become that ps5 doesnt offer a 1440p option. Only 1080 then 4k. So youre stuck on this resolution that isnt scaling up well. On the xbox one X, the fact that its stuck on 1440p means that I couldnt use the HDR feature because HDR is only available in 4K. So all my 4k HDR blurays had their functionality stripped from them when they should have worked. 2: the brightness. It was far too dark for my taste. The only way I could get the screen bright enough was to turn off every other light in the room 3: the color accuracy. Perhaps this and a few others could be fixed on the g7 model, but the color accuracy is bad. No saturation control. And everything on normal color balance has a green tint to it that became distracting if I played something on another screen. Especially one of my older one that was profesionally calibrated. But perhaps thats being a bit unfair Now if one day, they decide to make a 4k version of the Odyssey series. Id fully recommend a buy. I really got addicted to the curve of the monitor to the point that flat monitors look weird even after a few weeks later. But until then. Hold on to your money.

I ordered the g50a 2022 refresh for $347 including tax. I saw that Amazon has these monitors listed completely wrong because I ordered a curved qhd 165hz monitor and the g50a doesnt have a curved option on the Samsung website. I looked up the serial number that was on the box when it got here and it showed a g5 that costs $500+ so I got a pretty damn good deal.

There’s nothing really I dislike about this monitor for the price. I use this monitor for gaming and I’m very satisfied with its performance. I sit close and it consumes me. I like it a lot

This monitor was a good choice for me because I use it mostly for gaming and it is in a good price range between capable and reasonably priced. The packaging was nice, the monitor looks amazing, and the picture quality for what I paid for is amazing. This monitor has a good picture quality for 1440p, so make sure to remember it is not a 4k monitor so it wont have a lot of depth if thats what youre looking for. I got it up to 144 hertz and it is really smooth and responsive, and the features that it comes with such as FreeSync support and G-SYNC compatibility have worked very well and they have been very helpful to me. Note to others users if you are thinking of purchasing this: to get the full capability of this monitor buy a display port cable and a nice one. I got a display port cable that was capable of handling 144 hertz at 1440p because they only ship it with a stock HDMI cable. Overall a good monitor with a comfortable curve angle, a high refresh rate, and decent picture quality for a pretty decent price. No regrets with my purchase here, but make sure you familiarize yourself with the stats of this monitor before buying it and do some research to make sure it is what you need.

This monitor, the G5, is a huge upgrade from my old ASUS VS228. The 144hz is smooth and makes games feel much more responsive (when I can run them that well). The FreeSync works with GSync on my GTX 1660 Super, and makes everything feel even smoother. It gets plenty bright, and the configuration menus are very easy to navigate with the fairly intuitive power button/navigation stick. I was definitely confused from the reviews here before. The G7 reviews are also available on this page, which is not often made clear. There is no LED on the back of the G5, just the small light by the power button to indicate on/off working modes. The HDR is honestly lackluster. It does provide a slightly higher dynamic range and makes available things like HDR-compatible YouTube videos, but it washes out lots of the colors. Everything will generally look better if you just keep HDR off in Windows settings. The reviews I’ve seen here seem to indicate that the HDR on the G7 is much nicer, so I’ll be considering upgrading to that when I can. Overall, this is a great choice for people looking for 1440p or 144hz gaming/content. This monitor does of course have flaws, and it can be frustrating to find out what those are through the disorganized reviews here. Hopefully you see this review and it sheds some more light on this product!

When it comes to gamer performance, the slightest disadvantage can be the difference between winning and losing a match. With a 165Hz refresh rate, lightning fast 1ms (GTG) response time and AMD FreeSync Premium support, you can be sure that the Odyssey G55A Gaming Monitor won’t let you down on the battlefield. Awe-inspiring graphics with HDR10 uncover the secrets hiding in the shadows with deep dark blacks, luminous whites, and outstandingly detailed resolution. WQHD packs in 1.7x pixel density of Full HD for detailed, pin-sharp, lifelike images. The monitor’s futuristic design looks attractive in any desktop setting.
