My original hard drive was starting to fail, so I replaced it with this one. So far, its been working well -- and of course boots up quickly.

Great drive worked as expected. As the first drive upgrade from an HDD you will see amazing performance. I have come to really respect Samsung and their new solid state technology. Really cant beat this kind of deal for a SATA III internal drive.

Im new to the way of the SSD. I cannot believe how fast my system boots and launching games/programs takes a fraction of the time. What on earth took me so long to buy one of these?

Great unit! Highly recommended. One caveat. If you have Windows 10, you will NOT be able to use the migration software that comes with the drive. When I connected the drive to my computer, it would not see it. I tried a new USB-SATA transfer cable, changing Windows settings and nothing worked. I finally went online and found the version of migration software that ships with the SSD is older and does not work with Windows 10. If you go to http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/minisite/SSD/global/html/support/downloads.html you can grab the latest version and BOOM! Everything worked perfectly after that. The performance improvement is incredible. Well worth the effort.

WOW. If you were like me, struggling with the slowness of your old Macbook Pro Early 2011 because of new software, this SSD will bring the pep back into the step of your aging computer! Just make sure you purchase a USB 3.0 to SATA III adapter if you plan on cloning your original drive as you only get the SSD in the box. This is an absolute GAME CHANGER for me. However, I was hesitant at first about doing this, all you need to do is watch a few videos, purchase the correct tools and cables, and if you can drive a car, you can replace your HDD! Dont hesitate, seriously, this is worth it!

I have three of the 850 Pros in service, I put one of these in service at the same time as one the 850 pros as a little comparison. The performance of this drive in a Dell e6420 is excellent. I will write a follow up when/if this drive fails.

I used this SSD as a replacement hard drive in a mid-2012 Macbook Pro into which Id already installed 16GB of RAM, and the improvement is nothing short of dramatic. I was having boot-up issues, with the computer freezing at the log-in screen for several minutes, and app icons seemed to bounce endlessly before the app would open. Now, from pressing the power button to the desktop takes 30 seconds, and apps open in a mere two bounces of the icon. This kit will provide all of the tools you need for the project: • TEKTON 2830 Precision Bit and Driver Kit for Electronic and Precision Devices, 27-Piece (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009MKGRQA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00) And these two videos will provide every bit of info needed for the process: • How to install an SSD with Yosemite / El Capitan on Macbook Pro (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F82ThP-6jeA) • MacBook Pro SSD Upgrade (Mid- 2012) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vziz5c7Bs00) For the record, I transferred files from the old HD to the new one using a Time Machine backup, and I placed the old HD in this housing to use as an external HD for other projects: Inateck 2.5 Inch USB 3.0 Hard Drive Disk HDD External Enclosure Case with usb 3.0 Cable for 9.5mm 7mm 2.5 SATA HDD and SSD, Tool-free (FE2001) (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DW374W4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00). Also, although the Samsung 850 EVO is thinner than the old HD on the mid-2012 MBP, you will not need a spacer; the screws that you will remove from the sides of the old HD and install into the sides of the new one will hold it into place. Im not a tech expert and I still found this to be a surprisingly easy process, and its absolutely worth it. In fact, this 3-year-old computer is now running much more smoothly than a new Macbook Air issued by my employer. Best of luck!

I purchased this drive about a year ago for use in my MSI GE60 gaming laptop. Instead of replacing the laptops hard drive, I replaced the optical drive, which required the purchase of a caddy. Since then, Ive used this SSD as my boot drive for both Windows and Ubuntu, and it has exceeded my expectations. There was an immediately noticeable performance improvement - boot times were down to < 10 seconds, and random hanging that I had noticed with a hard drive were gone.

After reading some reviews I decided to purchase this product as well. If you follow the right direction and having a good CPU ( Personally I have an i7 Asus Laptop, 8gb mem ) you wont have any problem installing with the software that comes in. Its easy to run and cnfigure and it took me only like 30 minutes to finish the whole process. All depends on your memory and CPU. Also I bought the StarTech USB 3.0 to 2.5 Sata III Hard Drive which is more convenient to use. Im very happy camper and my laptop runs super fast.

Bought it during one of the deals. Amazing price, amazing product. Converting to SSD is no more a hassle with the provided application. The read and write speed of this SSD is amazingly fast. Beats almost all of the other brands out there. Would highly recommend for users who loves speedy boot up. Also bought it together with the following: http://amzn.to/1Dqw3dD Cheers!
