Greater than one weekI watched YouTube videos and it educated me - I needed to format the 870 EVO. The Samsung Data Migration and Magician software downloaded from the Samsung website was very helpful. My Dell Computer doesnt have a fast Graphics card so it will never work for 3D gaming but would be acceptable for some gaming. I picked the 870 EVO because I saw a video that said people had trouble getting the Samsung SS Drives installed in some Dell Computers. The 870 didnt come with an SATA 3 cable and had no mounting bracket hardware, so these items had to be purchased separately. I have built an i7 gaming computer and installed a SS Drive and have a hardware and software background so it was a pretty easy job to do but depending on your experience it may present a few problems before having success.

Greater than one weekThis is the second SSD from Samsung. 1st one would not transfer data using Samsung software per the instructions. After failing to migrate 3 times, each taking 5 hours, and having no luck with Samsung tech support, I thought Id try another one in case this one was just bad. Nope. Same results for both SSD. Ill try a different manufacturer.
