Works as advertised for the price advertised. Not the best bang for your buck but definitely a solid drive as long as it shows up new and untampered with.

I watched a bunch of YouTube videos on cloning my hard drive to this new SSD, along with how to install it, and successfully did so about a week ago. I purchased my computer in 2016, so I guess that makes it old. After cloning and installation, I had a few issues when booting up so watched more videos on how to get into the BIOS screen; once I edited my booting sequence, it seemed okay. The next day when I turned the computer on after a complete shut down, I got the blue screen of death again, so (after more videos) I created a windows installation media device from a USB (from my other computer) and had to go through a bit more trouble shooting to finally get the computer to work properly (and still kept all the files on my drive! Yay me!). I was going to give 4 stars because my experience wasnt flawless, but Im not sure if that is due to the cloning software Samsung provides or something I did. My computer is old and now super fast - crossing fingers that it will continue working great for a few (many) more years! :)

The Samsung software included for cloning is terrible. Extremely slow and buggy. After completing the laundry list of things they suggest to successfully clone my current drive, it still failed. I returned it since this product is marketed as an upgrade. Bought a competitor, it worked crucially.

when my 1TB drive died I decided to go larger. I had to have a friend help me to install the OS but all went well

For some reason I can use it for gaming just fine but as for using Chrome it seems to hit 100% use. Dunno why....

Primeira vez que uso um SSD e é incrivel como é facil de instalar (eu uso notebook). Uma observação a ser feita, é que o manual diz pra baixar o software Magician, mas esse não é mais o método primário de fazer a clonagem de disco. A samsung lançou um novo software chamado Data Migration, é por ele que é feito o processo de clonagem corretamente a partir de 2021. O magician serve para fazer gerenciamento de disco. Ambos são baixados no site oficial da samsung.

I used this for expanding my Eufy security home base unit and it was so easy to install and format. Loading security videos to watch were instantaneous. Very happy with the Samsung SSD.

Dell laptop came with a 5400rpm 1tb drive.
