Best deal on the internet for an SSD anywhere near that big for that price. Beats eBay, which is rare for Amazon when it comes to computer parts lol

It’s a Samsung! Always the best quality. There was an issue with the data migration software, but no big deal. I worked around it. SSD works great

Initialized it on Windows10 only for it to disappear and require reinstallation. Over and over. System would not recognize the ssd consistently. Returned to purchase EVO.

It works as advertised! Very is to set up and mount for a mini mac M1 2020. fast enough for me. For someone doing lots of read-write for photos etc... might want something faster, bigger. With that said, it works great for me.

This is a really nice, though a bit spendy, addition to my home lab shared storage (from NAS). While you can use the magic of thin provisioning and over-provisioning to squeeze more virtual machines and content into your storage, eventually you will fill the storage and you dont want to be taken by surprise when that happens.

16Tb storage (8Tb internal + 8Tb external) is the maximum the PlayStation 4 consoles support at any one time, and Im glad I finally achieved it. I bought two of the 8Tb Samsung 870 SSDs and temporarily put them both on a PlayStation 4 Pro console, even though I already have a PlayStation 5 (itself upgraded with 4Tb Seagate FireCuda 530 with heatsink). One Samsung 870 was installed internally, the other was in an external SATA III - to - USB 3.2 enclosure. Slightly technical note: USB ports on PlayStation 4 consoles are only USB 3.0, but you can usually plug newer USB peripherals into older USB ports, and you can also choose to swap the external SSD back and forth between the PS4s USB 3.0 and the PS5s USB 3.2 for playing your PS4 games.

The SAMSUNG 870 QVO SATA III 2.5 SSD 8TB is ultra fast. I am using it as external storage for my MacBook Pro. The Macbook came only with 1TB internal SSD storage and I have 4TB of photos. I store the photos on external drives. The magnetic drives I used were so slow that I had to transfer the photo files to the computers internal drive before I could edit them in Photoshop. Using the Samsung SSD as external storage I can edit the photos directly fom this drive. There is no discernible difference in speed compared to the internal SSD. I also want to mention that I tried different enclosures for the drive and the best one so far is the Satechi USB-C type external drive enclosure.

Its been over a month since having it and Im just thankful for it. A friend had mentioned that the load in would be faster with a device like this and he was right. It loads in a matter of seconds and so far Ive been enjoying this product.

Sequential Read/Write performance reaching up to 560/530 MB/s provides best in class performance via the SATA interface. Accelerated read performance up to 13% faster than 860 QVO for added benefits for everyday computing. 870 QVO provides adequate amount of TBW for daily use, equivalent to 3 bit MLC SSDs and offers up to 1. Expanded capacity up to 4TB for client SSD in 2.5” 7mm form factor. 720 TBW for 2TB model and 1,440 TBW for 4TB model. whichever comes first..
