Samsung 960 EVO Series - 250GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V6E250BW)

I bought 2 for raid 0 and really impressed by the performance.

This thing is literally no joke. Compared to my 850 evo ssd 250gb this is just, fast. So fast that windows installed in less then 10 minutes the ssd took 35 around, I used the usb method. Boot times are insane, I was comfortable at a cool 9 seconds and and then running my programs that I would of liked to start up all in the beginning. Oh no, NVMe dont play like that, it loaded my os (windows 10) in 5 seconds and 5 seconds later every start up program that would have been delayed or stopped before right after. Im not used to such a response yet. I have it paired with a i7 8700k stock on a Gigabyte Z370N board with 16 gb off DDR4 at 2400 mhz.

Honestly, I dont notice much of a difference from my 850 EVO ssd. Im sure the benchmarks are there, but I wouldnt say its better for real world scenarios. Maybe if you are reading/writing huge video files in your editing software. I bought this purely as an enthusiast. The form factor is a big factor to consider, so it may be worth it to you for that alone.

This is extremely fast! But in normal operation you wont notice much difference compared to a SATA SSD. If Excel opens in 1/4 second instead of 1/2 second, it wont make much difference. I can notice and feel the difference, but its not life-changing like it was moving from a HDD to an SSD. Where it really shines is in opening or copying very large files (10s or 100s of GB).

Great price and speed. Not got for old pc. You mostly wont be able to boot from this without an adapter to pci. Even then bios may not recognize this. Requires pci 2 or 3 express x4. If its x1 speed is same as ur regular ssd sata 6. In out are 4x more than ssd. Anyone who doesnt know. You can put any pci express card into any slot that is larger. So if u have full length pci express 3 x16 slot. When you get a m.2 adapter with pci x4. You can lineup the notch and put it in pci express x16 slot and it will work. Only time it wont is if its obviously pci x1..bas fewer pins.. So pci x4 wont fit.

This drive works fantastic. Boot times are insane. Running on a Maximus X Hero/8700K, with Windows 10, this drive boots from bios to windows login screen within seconds. Crystal Disk Mark is showing the 3500+ read, with 2100+ write as expected. Mounted behind the ROG heatsink plate in the middle of the mobo. Would absolutely buy again for future builds. Installation was incredibly easy, and not having to put up with SATA/Power cables with installation is the best way to go. Absolutely recommend for modern rigs that can run it.

This stuff is badass. I am a huge fan of Samsungs SSD and PCIe drives.
