My original HDD was running at only 5400RPM which made it even slower. The MOST difficult part of the change was getting the case open. After removing all the visable screws and the ones under the rubber feet the case still wouldnt open. I had to use a thin steel blade ( they recommend plastic but I didnt have one) and SLOWLY pry the case apart at the seam. This went slowly and you just have to keep going. Lots of plastic squeeks. The SSD change went very quickly. Putting it back together is again a verySLOW methodical process. The pieces fit together by snapping the pieces together. The SSD works GREAT. I went to the Samsung site and downloaded Samsung Magician and followed the instructions, easy and it worked flawlessly. Very much worth the time. It is very possible to do, just take your time.

So far it did meet expectations, my Lenovo Ideapad 320 really became perceptibly much faster, especially loading Windows 10. Cloning the original clunky hard drive went smoothly using Samsungs own software, freely downloaded from their site. Documentation could be better.

This is the 3rd Samsung SSD Ive owned, and all of them have had no problems. They work great. I gave it a 5 for easy to install because for me, it was. I have an external drive bay that swaps 2.5 drives easily. If youre mounting this inside the chassis it might not be as easy.

Bought this after a hard drive crashed. The 860 EVO is not top performance, but it does the job consistently. SSDs are a great mid-tier way to improve gaming and graphic/video editing capability. This level of solid state hard drives are all pretty much similar in terms of speed and price per gigabyte. What makes this hard drive better is the Samsung data migration tool. It makes replicating the replacement drive super simple. You dont have to buy extra software or put your partitioning skills to the test. Just follow the instructions and youll be set.

I can’t say enough about this drive, boy did it bring my 2012 MacBook Pro back to life. I added memory and this thing and boom it was working as fast as a new computer.

only took about a half hour to clone the smaller original drive. works perfectly.
