> 3 dayI just installed this on my 2018 MacBook Pro without downloading the software on to my computer by plugging in the Samsung Portable SSD T5 into my computer. Open Disk Utility. In the left hand column, click on the External Drive and click Erase from the top of the pop up window, re-name the external drive to whatever you want. Under the Format drop down, click OS X Extended (Journaled), and then click Erase. You are good to go!

Greater than one weekI have purchased Samsung drives before and they have always performed admirably. This one was no exception. I plugged in the usb cord and it was recognized by Windows immediately. Two thumbs up!!!

> 3 dayIve been using this SSD backup for some months now for an HP Envy 1TB laptop, and I just love it. The best thing is that it operates exactly as a hard drive, meaning it can be plugged into any device to retrieve files. No incompatible software issues to deal with, as you might have to deal with using a dedicated backup drive containing proprietary software. Its fast as can be using the lightning cable, and Ive experienced no read/write or retrieval errors. Love the huge storage capacity.
