SAMSUNG T5 Portable SSD 1TB - Up to 540MB/s - USB 3.1 External Solid State Drive, Black (MU-PA1T0B/AM)

I just got this product in the mail today from Amazon. It ran me about $250 when all was said and done. That might seem like a lot but I need reliable storage and a drive with moving parts isnt as good as an SSD drive, like I use at work.

I store movies the HHD I had before crashed at 5 years. I lost 2300 movies, Im hoping It lasts longer and gives me a warning.

Amazing product. Small, portable, and good write speed. It also has an app to lock it (set a password to access the ssd)

I bought this SSD drive to backup my MacBook Pro. I used it to backup my old MacBook Pro and restore it to my new one. I really appreciated that they include both a USB-C to USB-A cable as well as a USB-C to USB-C cable. I used both already! I was also very impressed at the small size of the drive. I included a picture of the new Samsung SSD sitting on top of my older portable 1TB drive which I thought was already nice and compact. Also, transfer speeds between this SSD and my new MacBook Pro were excellent!

This SSD is in a retail box only for packaging but not for carrying. The SSD comes with 2 cables, one is USB-C cable with male connector on both end, another one is regular USB-C cable because the SSD has only one USB-C female connection. I have tried to transfer the same folder with over 100gb videos by both cables on my computers USB 3 port and USB-C port, results are the same, speed was around140 mb/s.

This portable SSD is pretty much the best bang for your buck. Its a little more expensive than some of the alternatives such as Seagates SSD but has a much better form factor is a lot more compact is slightly faster and overall appears to be much more reliable.

Would recommend this this as a external storage device. Very compact and light weight.

Cant speak for everyone but Ive always had good experiences with Samsung products and this ssd is no exception. Fast and reliable like the last 3 Ive purchase. Used this one on my Xbox series X and the games transfer and load speeds are night and day, almost as fast as the internal stock storage.
