I bought this about a year ago for $348.14 and now I see that they price is $279 for a faster and better one. ((2TB Extreme PRO Portable SSD - Up to 2000MB/s - USB-C, USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 - External Solid State Drive - SDSSDE81-2T00-G25)).

Works like a charm. Great value and speed for holding large Virtual Instrument (VST) files. Important to remember that SSDs last forever when it comes to reading data. Their lifespan is based on how much writing of data is done, which makes them ideal for VST library since you read them and hardly ever have need to writing them once they are stored on the SSD.

I think the headline pretty much sums it up.

I purchased two of these 500gb SSD drives to connect and use as startup drives on my old Mac computers and I couldnt be happier as they made a dramatic improvement in both speed and performance. Ive been using them for over a year now and couldnt be happier. Would highly recommend.

I was surprised with how small and light it was. It’s perfect for someone like me, who usually carry an external hard drive while traveling. The transfer speed is pretty awesome to me. I recommend this drive!
