04-12-2024The thing appeared to work, but, later [uh, almost immediately,] error messages with no explanation appear, and it fails to see folders. The second one, after I returned the first one, does the same thing. Garbage. All of the features would be five star if they were actually present.

Greater than one weekI use this with my iPad Pro 11 and it is amazing. I am able to edit large video files for long periods of time without eating up my on-board storage. It does heat up quickly when in use but only to a point then it maintains its that same temp for at least a couple of hours. That is the longest I have used this continuously. If you do run into any problems (not that you will) you are better off researching it and figuring it out on your own though. Their customer support is absolutely useless. Don’t let the complimentary flashback offer influence you either. It is a gimmick to try and get more money from you that doesn’t work anyway. Get the device, just skip the customer service and Flashback offer. This is just a very capable piece of hardware for you to use with no real support. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars.

> 3 dayI have never had a faster external hard drive. Both for large files, and when copying lots of little files. It gets warm, but not too hot. It runs silently. Between my 2015 MBP and my 2020 MPB, they are both fast, but there is a noticeable boost in speed when copying to/from the newer laptop. This thing blows away my old HDD based external hard drives and I will be taking a drill press to them soon.

> 3 dayThe only way for me to get near the advertised speed 1050MB/s is by connecting it to a thunderbolt port on my laptop using usb-c/usb-c cable

Greater than one weekAmazon has a mistake in their reviews. They have mixed reviews for the Extreme Pro with the Extreme. The Extreme Pro is almost twice as fast as the Extreme. The Extreme Pro has only been out a few months so reviews from 2018 are for the Extreme. The Extreme Pro is slightly larger than the regular Extreme, and will NOT fit in the cases Amazon suggests under Customers also bought. You can easily identify which is which. The Extreme Pro has an orange metallic band around the perimeter, the Extreme is solid black. The Extreme Pro (using in Macbook Pro USB-c port) is wicked fast. Ideal for storing / transferring GoPro video.

> 3 dayDoes what it’s supposed to. Very light, slim, and portable. Really fast read/write speeds.

> 3 daySo I got this could be about a year ago or so to replace my then Time Capsule which was being used for backup but then began giving trouble backing up getting stuck in the process. I went with this because I know SanDisk to be a good brand and of course cant beat SSD drive-wise.

> 3 dayI like this portable storage hard driver. It is the product I am looking for. The pro one is more expensive than the cheaper one. But it worths because the speed is double faster than the cheaper one. I use it for my low-storage Macbook pro. I put time machine and large files and some apps into it. It runs so smoothly that I dont feel it is an external driver.
