Greater than one weekWorks well, tranferrate is great however it heats up way more than other drives of similar speed/capacity.

> 3 dayI own a MacBook Pro with the 256GB SSD built in (I know that I should have bought a bigger SSD) and with photography and video work I quickly run out of HD space so the search for a external HD began.

> 3 dayI bought this as an external SSD to my Xbox. I’m generally pleased with the storage size and form factor. But it doesn’t always play nicely with the Xbox and has to be unplugged and plugged back in for the Xbox to recognize any of the games that are stored on it. I wish it served this purpose a little more seamlessly.

> 3 day1st one I thought was a brick, its some issue with the driver that it comes with, but doesnt require one. Asus laptop, windows 10, will not recognize this external ssd. Tried rolling back driver, updating drivers, downloading WD drivers, scanner tools, causes computer to hang up in device manager. Not sure how you screw up software for something thats old tech. It has something to do with WD SCSI Enclosure Device which I think has something to do with its password / encryption ability. so useless, make it work first.

> 3 dayI got this drive for my sister who is trying to eke a few more months out of her aging laptop but was rapidly running out of space. She was able to move her entire iPhotos library - 41,000+ photos and 150+ videos - to the external drive in about an hour. She freed up over 100GB of space on her Macbook and is experiencing less lagging. The drive is small enough to be easily portable - she notes it is smaller than her iPhone XR and easily fits into the pouch that carries her power cord and accessories. A great tool to help extend the capacity of your laptop!
