> 3 dayFive stars for the 1050MB/s version. The cheaper 550MB/s version is slightly smaller in size (but not storage capacity); however, the 1050Mb/s model has slightly better cables and it doesn’t run constantly hot. If you want to leave the device plugged into your computer for long periods of time, get the 1050Mb/s model as it’s faster and cooler in operation. The 550Mb/s version stays hot and seems to draw on battery power even when the laptop itself is turned off.

Greater than one weekI use these for recording multiple hi bandwidth using the BMD ATEM Mini PRO ISO. Works perfectly at the 400mbs required. The USB 3 interface is fast enough that I leave the video files on this drive to edit them.

> 3 dayWorks like a charm. Great value and speed for holding large Virtual Instrument (VST) files. Important to remember that SSDs last forever when it comes to reading data. Their lifespan is based on how much writing of data is done, which makes them ideal for VST library since you read them and hardly ever have need to writing them once they are stored on the SSD.

> 3 dayI like this portable storage hard driver. It is the product I am looking for. The pro one is more expensive than the cheaper one. But it worths because the speed is double faster than the cheaper one. I use it for my low-storage Macbook pro. I put time machine and large files and some apps into it. It runs so smoothly that I dont feel it is an external driver.

> 3 dayI purchased the 500gb Extreme Pro for use with my Xbox One X. The Xbox refused to let me use the drive for game storage and the only error I could find was This device is too slow (0x80bd003b). After spending over 2 hours trying to troubleshoot, format the drive, troubleshoot some more, reformat, etc... I finally benchmarked the drive only to discover that the sequential read/write speeds were around 40mbs when connected to a USB 3.0 port on a Macbook Pro. I decided to try another 3.0 cable for the heck of it and, go figure, the same benchmark test speeds increased to around 300mbs and it now magically works just fine with the Xbox. The culprit is clearly the USB-C to USB-A cable that was included with the drive. The USB-A connector is blue, implying that the cable is at least 3.0 compatible, though I do not see that actually stated anywhere in the product listing. If it is supposed to be a 3.0 cable, the QC here is absolute crap. If the cable is not supposed to be 3.0, considering the connector color and the fact that the product listing does not state that any additional equipment is required in order to achieve USB 3.0 speeds (reasonably implying out of the box compatibility), this product listing is dangerously bordering on fraud.

09-06-2025These are great looking SSD, very light to carry around. Liked the looks better than Samsung and other brands. Above all, this is my first SSD and I wanted it to the best in the market currently.

> 3 dayThis is for the pro version. So far its great ,fast about twice as fast as the my passport sad. Tho like some have said about other drives it does get warm will in use. Hotter then I thought it would but its still cooler then the passport in extended use. I might update when I test it more. For a fast drive its difficult to beat outside of internal.
