easy to install, works and looks great

Trying to match door handles to moen brushed gold faucets, hardware, and plumbing fixtures is difficult. Not that the description claimed it would match Moen brushed bronze faucets or bath hardware, but this satin brass doesnt come close to any other satin brass ive seen. It is a very yellow and glossy finish with the brushed metal not as easily viewable as is the high gloss finish. Disappointed in this finish as I have other schlage in the aged bronze finish that look and feel expensive. The satin brass finish appears very cheap and like it was painted in a garage - not what I have come to expect from Schlage. I would call this glossy yellow gold with faint brushstrokes.

Classy look, easy to install.

I rated this lever 4 stars only because I wanted to leave room for something better. Since I didnt buy/install other levers I cant make a general statement as to whether this lever is in the best category. I bought this lever because it seemed to provide good value compared to other levers and, after installing a whole house full, I still have that opinion. If you are considering this lever note that the handle is easily reversible and the same key that unlocks it is the key used to unlatch the handle so you can reverse it. This provides fewer parts and is good design practice. I was replacing existing round knobs and this lever fit in without any modifications to the existing holes or latch. I used the existing screws to attach the levers because the screws that came with the levers were slightly bigger and I didnt want to have problems with threading. I picked the bright brass to replace existing bright brass and it matches exactly. The quality of these levers seems reasonable for the price.

I cant say enough about the impact upgrading our old, outdated bright yellow door handles has had on our new home. But first, my impression of the locks themselves: Installation: Swapping out these locks couldnt have been simpler, requiring only the use of a screwdriver. I had concerns because I was replacing another brand of lock and a style that was much smaller (no back plate) but no matter. The Schlage locks fit perfectly where the previous lock was installed. Note...an electric screwdriver makes the task much easier! Product look and feel: Exactly what youd expect...feels just right when installed, solid and quiet. The black color is clean, sharp, and appears to be very durable (unlike the bright yellow other brand which was already showing signs of wear.) Impact on the house: Like a great piece of jewelry, these door handles provided a finishing touch that quietly raises the bar for the rest of the house. Treat yourself and undertake this weekend upgrade.

Broken...waaaay too expensive to break within 6 months of use...although I am Hercules so things generally dont last long in my house. Delilah is awfully upset with the sheer amount of destruction I cause in the house. Its pretty though.

My door look beautiful

I have had this door lever lockset for years and called Schlage for a replacement. They made no fuss at all and did everything to get me a replacement as soon as possible. Free replacement and shipping. I am so happy I put all my door locksets as Schlage years ago.
