SENNHEISER HD 599 Open Back Headphone, Ivory

Hatte die Kopfhörer für meinen Vater bestellt, der ausschließlich Klassik hört. Für ihn waren sie nicht zu gebrauchen, weil verfälschte klang und zu basslastig. Er ist bei seinem alten HD600 geblieben, der schon etwas lädiert war.

Bought these because I needed a desperate upgrade from my previous headphones. I have a big fat head, and let me just say, these are so comfortable to wear. Theres even like earmuff-esque comfort on the bits of the headphones that cover your ears, and make them infinitely more comfortable to wear. I can also hear things much better with these (things I couldnt precisely hear previously with my other headphones) and Im definitely going to be sticking with this brand for the rest of my life.

Having paid around 200+ for various AKGs, Sennheisers & Audio Technicas i have to say this headphones stand way up there in comfort, quality, clarity and flexibility. The dont consume as much power as to require a default amp - 50 Ohm (unlike the higher level HD600s - 300 Ohm). And sound much clearer than the HD518, HD558 and a few other cans from the competition. The style is quite unique compared to most headphones these days that are usually colored black, white or gray. The fabric of the earmuffs is very comfortable (similar in style to the HD598/558/518) and allows the individual to use these headphones for consecutive hours without any major discomfort. In terms of audio quality i would compare these to the previous generation HD598s, these ones being a bit cleaner in sound. The specs are mostly the same though, so it might be my own user bias. In the range of 230$-250$ headphones, i dont think ive heard better quality on other headphones by that range. I would suggest an economical Amp/DAC as a companion.
