Nachdem mein knapp 20 Jahre alter Sennheiser HD 565 Ovation (damals praktisch die Grenze zum HighEnd-Programm) das Zeitliche gesegnet hatte, war mir klar, daß wieder etwas Vergleichbares ins Haus muss.

These headphones are the latest in my repertoire. I had the Shure SRH440 which are the best bang for your buck. I replaced them with the SRH 940. Excellent (even better ) sound reproduction, but seem cheaply made. I know they are all some type of plastic but the 940s seem fragile. I have the Bowers and Wilkins PX for travel which are nice but there is a sense of truncated sound at the low and high ends. Still they serve their purpose. Now the HD599. I had no idea what headphones could sound like. I realize the open back makes the difference, but it feels like I am sitting in the middle of the band. The sound reproduction is amazing with clear sound levels in all. If I listen to a concert, I actually think the flute is over my left shoulder with violins to the right in front of me. Lastly, they are very comfortable. Fit just perfectly (certainly not my PX). Hope this helps.

These headphones feel great, no fatigue after several hours of use, I can basically wear them all day. The sound quality is as good as youd expect from Sennheiser with a wide soundstage, and a decent helping of bass. Being open backed, you will have a lot of sound leakage but that comes with the territory, along with a complete lack of isolation. These headphones are best used in quiet environments where they will really shine.

Ho provato decine di cuffie e sono veramente felice che Sennheiser mi possa ancora stupire, qualche volta in negativo e qualche volta molto in positivo come succede con le nuove HD 599. Si tratta di ampie cuffie sovraurali leggere, comode e che suonano alla grande. La progettazione aperta dà una sensazione sonora incredibile. In pratica, il padiglione non è sigillato ermeticamente come nelle tradizionali cuffie ma è letteralmente traforato. Leffetto, per dirla con le parole del mio collega Andrea, è quello di sentirsi in una sala concerti. In pratica non cè alcun rimbombo, lorecchio non soffre del fatto di essere chiuso e il suono è magnificamente naturale. La resa è ottima per unampia gamma di musica, dalla classica al metal anche se, come scrivono giustamente gli altri recensori Amazon, per dare il massimo vanno collegate a un impianto o un un DAC per amplificare il segnale. Ciò non toglie che si possano godere sia in poltrona con il proprio impianto audio di fascia alta che, di tanto in tanto, collegato a PC, console da gioco o smartphone.

Quality headphones with good sound. If you’re not getting good enough sound from these headphones, chances are that the input quality could be inferior rather than headphones. You’ll never experience the same sound in these headphones from even the best and latest iPhone, as you will from a quality hifi system. Consider the source of sound before blaming the headphones.

Item reviewed is Sennheiser HD599se headphone (Amazon exclusive). I want to emphasize how comfortable these are to wear for hours. The sound is pretty good (clear and not high/low exaggerated), the best I have owned. I dont think there is a better value, or a better sound unless you buy a more expensive headphone and an amplifier.

Ce casque, très confortable même pendant plus dune heure, offre une qualité découte exceptionnelle. Le son est dune pureté et dune finesse incroyable à toutes les fréquences. Jai réécouté certains enregistrements de musique classique, avec cette fois-ci limpression très réelle dêtre au milieu de la salle de concert. Les basses sont bien présentes, mais sans excès.

Al principio me costó acostumbrarme porque estoy acostumbrado a usar sin cables, pero ahora que me he acostumbrado al cable de nuevo, no puedo más que deshacerme en elogios. Una maravilla de sonido, muy, muy claro, y muy preciso. Más que aptos para jugar, ya que representan el sonido en el espacio de una manera sorprendente, como si lo reprodujera en diferentes capas. Da la sensación de que el sonido viene de diferentes fuentes y lugares.

Sono cuffie per lo più in plastica robusta e leggera. I pad sono in velluto e sganciabili, mentre la headband è foderata in foam e rivestita in morbida pelle: indossate risultano abbastanza comode e leggere. Le ho testate con musica liquida attraverso l’ iFi hip-dac2 + iphone 12 con decoder MQA in modalità bilanciata: il basso è sorprendentemente materico, caldo e piacevolmente colorato, molto convincente, mai invadente. I medi sono equilibrati, piacevoli, convincenti, restituiscono la voce umana con piacevolezza e dettaglio tonale. La gamma alta è a mio parere il punto debole: non male, ma non alla altezza delle gamme bassa e media. Nel complesso una cuffia comoda, piacevole, non difficile da pilotare, che suona in maniera morbida e calda senza perdere eccessivamente dettaglio. È una cuffia ‘aperta’ pertanto nonostante la spazialità sonora ampia ed avvolgente, non isola completamente dai rumori esterni, comunque restituendo una più che accettabile insonorizzazione. Infine, nella versione avorio, la cuffia è davvero esteticamente accattivante!
