> 3 dayWorks fantastic on our hardwood floors and carpeted rooms. I dont think Ive had to bust out my old vacuum since getting one of these for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. We have 3 cats that would track around kitty litter and shed everywhere. This vacuum does a fantastic job of keeping our floors clean and comfortable to walk around barefoot on. (I did buy the no tangle rollers since cat hair/human hair was building up on the roller and getting wrapped around it eventually stopping the roller from turning and needing manual intervention. I havent had the no tangle rollers for long so well see if theyre any better than the stock ones) Only complaint is the mapping doesnt work the best. The robot will ignore the no go zones and you have to wipe the map and start over to try to get them to apply. Mapping software could use some work. Also youll want to run these during the day/in a well lit room. Ive tried running them late at night or early in the morning and due to the lack of light they get lost and cant find the docking station. Verdict: Despite the buggy mapping software for no go zones and low light issues I love the fact I no longer have to vaccum!

> 3 dayWe have tried other brands, but this one seems to be the best. We have 2 dogs, so a LOT of dog hair. The Shark vacuum maps out your house better than the competitor, and if the battery is running low it recharges itself & then picks up where it left off. It sometimes leaves clumps of hair on rugs, which is why I rated it a 4 on cleaning up hair. Overall, the best robot vacuum!

> 3 dayI have really bad allergies. I have a dog and a cat. This thing has changed my life in helping keep hair and dander swept up. My allergies are much better in my house. But, I personally do not think it is worth spending more money for the self dump.

> 3 dayIm not much for writing reviews, but this one deserves it. Ive never had an autonomous vacuum cleaner so my review is solely based on a first time users experience. The vacuum integrated perfectly with my Google Home, although it does not seem to like cleaning rooms with custom names by voice. For example, if I say Hey Google, clean the cat room it doesnt seem to understand. But when I rename the room to one of its canned names then it does just fine. Hey Google, clean the laundry room was what I had to use. It mapped the house perfectly on its first run. I have a 2,000sqf 1 story house with multiple rooms. It took the better part of a whole day for the vacuum to map the whole house, but now I can send it to any specific room and it will drive right to it and clean it. After about 4 cleanings, we no longer have cat/dog hair buried in the carpet in our main bedroom. Now you would never know we have any animals at all by looking at our floors because this sucker cleans everything (we run it every other day through the whole house). As for the auto-emptying feature... It works flawlessly. The only issue is that it will not last anywhere close to 30 days unless you already keep your floors clean another way and dont have animals. With 2 people and 2 animals, we have to empty the vacuum base every 2-3 days but this is still way easier then having to keep up with emptying the vacuum itself. It takes all of about 30 seconds to empty the base and it never impedes with the vacuums ability to do its job. Overall, this vacuum has saved us so much time by eliminating our need to vacuum/sweep every day! Definitely a 5 star rating from us with a glowing recommendation. We bought it on cyber Monday so it was a great deal, but it would still be worth the full sticker price in my opinion.

Greater than one weekProduct is a cheaper iRobot, period. For half the price of the leading brand, I get half the cleaning ability. We have an iRobot and this Shark. Both clean the bottom floor and the iRobot cleans afterward. Always has more debris in its container.

10-06-2025Pros: I have a shedding lab and the unit works great getting the hair off the hardwood floors. It rarely gets stuck under furniture or tangled in power cords. Gets dirt and hair out from under the smallest crevasses with its front sweeper brushes. Empties itself when complete. Cons: Its a little noisy when cleaning, especially when emptying itself into the main container. The mapping system is inaccurate at times with the machine hunting for the base station for several minutes. Ill send the machine to a single room to clean, but it seams to partially clean other areas as well. Doesnt get up the dog hair thats on the rug. I bust out the large upright vac for that. In all its really worth the price and the pros far outweigh the cons. Works much better than my first robot cleaner I bought in 2017. Its like day and night better! If the mapping worked better Id give it 5 stars.

> 3 dayBought this during a huge discount period on Amazon. Happy with the performance, but the bot will not stick to the designated schedule that we programmed in the app. It starts at the correct time, but on days that will have programmed to NOT run, or days when we DO have it programmed to run. It has a mind of its own.

> 3 dayUPDATED 7.13.2022: About 4 months ago, my Shark deleted the map it made of my house. Thats what it uses to efficiently clean the house and it lets you design No Vaccuum Zones such as under your table where it gets lost for hours trying to navigate chair legs, or where that rug is that is really plush and prevents the robot from getting up onto it. Anyway, Ive remapped and re-set up my rooms and no-go zones multiple times only for the app to delete them again. Ive read online that its a very common problem, but good luck getting anyone in Support to look at it. Without this functionality, its just another dumb robot. Dont waste your time buying it for the Mapping functionality. _________________________________________________________________________ Ive been rocking at Roombak 699 for many years. Three batteries, countless brushes, and a new dustbin lever later, and I knew it was time for an upgrade. I purchased this Shark unit, not really knowing what to expect. I should have done this a long time ago. Lets start with the obvious: - The Shark unit has a predictable cleaning pattern. Once it has run several times, itll create a decent map of your house. Youll want to go in and create rooms or zones so you can tell it where you want it to clean (or dont). You can also create no go zones without having to stick those infrared, battery powered units all over the place. Once this is all set up, this unit will clean your house--taking as long as it takes. For my house, that usually means going back to the home unit to dump its collector a couple of times. Every now and then, it needs to recharge. Roomba didnt do that. It would zig and zag back and forth until it ultimately just lost charge and maybe it cleaned everything, but probably not. - My Roomba was really loud. So loud, you couldnt work or watch TV or carry on a conversation with it running. My kids even asked me not to run it at night because it woke them up (and it was downstairs and they were upstairs). The Shark unit is at least half as quiet so we dont mind running it when were all here working or just putzing around. - How well does it clean? Maybe not as well, but that is made up for by the fact that it can climb over rugs and clean the entire house in one day versus maybe it takes 2-3 days with the Roomba and it gets stuck on half a dozen things, including cliffs that arent cliffs. We have a mix of hard floors and fairly thick-pile carpet. If youre wondering if its worth saving a few hundred dollars on a Shark and trying it out, you should go for it. Im glad I did.

Greater than one weekI have a Belgian Malinois and a German Shepard and it cleans up their fur really well on all hard surfaces. There’s never ANY dust or fur visible on the hard floor, the vacuum is ran once a day on a schedule. As you can imagine, carpet can be difficult to get fur out of for most vacuums. If I had to put a number on it, I’d say that it cleans up 90%-95% of the fur on the carpet. That’s actually really impressive with how much my dogs shed year round. The mapping took some time but once we figured out how to do it properly, it’s been working great! The house is 2,400sqft and it does have to stop one time during cleaning to recharge but it returns to exactly where it left off and finishes the rest of the house. The reason it has to recharge is likely due to it being on the highest suction mode, which is awesome that there is even an option for that. Couldn’t recommend this vacuum enough, it’s drastically lessened cleaning time throughout the week. Also, it’s nice to come home to vacuum lines in the carpet every day that I don’t have to spend time on. The bagless empty on the home base is an awesome feature as well. Just be mindful not to have it run at night because the vacuum on the home base is loud when it pulls everything out of the robot, as it should be. It does a great job at pulling everything out and the loud suction only lasts a couple of seconds. Just know that it may wake you up if you’re asleep. 10/10 recommend, absolutely worth every dime.
