> 24 hourI love shark products but this one is not any improvement from the last model. Holding dirt capacity is half of what the one I bought in 2018 Features are very similar, the quality in my book has changed. Not east to vacuum with. It won’t go straight it cuts to the right. I recommended one to a friend and they have the same complaints

> 24 hourI like my sharp. I love the fact it cleans carpet and hardwood/ linoleum. The suction could be a little more powerful but its agility and ability to separate from the base makes up for it. I havent used it for my dog yet but with the air filter I can tell the difference just after cleaning a room.

> 24 hourThis vacuum cleaner has no suction power. 70% of the time the motor doesnt even run for no reason.

> 24 hourAs stated in the headline, this vac has very strong suction, clearly more than my old Shark vac that was replaced due to failure of the brush motor. However, the new vac is also 25-30% heavier than the old vac. Also, I know that the new-design brush roller is supposed to be clog free (and has been so far), but I prefer the old vac chassis that allowed the brush roller to be popped out from the top when necessary.

> 24 hourThis is my second Ninja. The first was a Ninja Rotator I bought in 2018. It failed in 2020. Beyond any repair I could perform. The problem was not one noted in the 5 or 6 troubleshooting tips in their manual. Couldnt find a solution anywhere on Youtube either. It just lost suction. I just accepted my fate ($400 worth) and ordered a new vacuum. As mentioned when these work..theyve got superior suction. When they work there is a WHOLE lot to like about these. So, I bought a new model of the Ninja from Amazon. Another $400 . The Apex, which is advertised as having self-cleaning rollers (dont believe it..they still need cleaned) and all sorts of other little technologies that sounded pretty cool. This was purchased at the end of December this year. Last week it failed. Thats less than 3 months. This time it was really strange. I smelled a little burn..instantly turned off the vacuum (even though these are supposed to shut themselves down when hot to avoid damage). I went through all the trouble-shooting tips. The roller was wrapped in hair. Cleaned out. The hose was full of debris..was able to blow this out. Ive always kept the filters clean so these were not even in the equation. I will say, this vacuum is very easy to get into ANY possible trouble spot..thats the good news. The bad news is, it doesnt matter once you hit the point of no return. Tried to turn it back on. When upright, where you can typically pull out the hose and use it to spot clean, it wouldnt even turn on. When I engaged the floor cleaner it did turn on, but had no power and a very high-pitched whirl. I knew it was fried. Again, there was nothing on the internet that even mentioned this behavior. This time ($800 plus into Ninja products) I took a shot with Amazon perhaps helping me out. And they did. Amazon sent me another unit. Im hoping it will last. If it doesnt last at least 3 or 4 years I will never-ever buy another Ninja. The only reason I gave this 2 stars is based on Amazons integrity and motivation to help out a long time customer like myself. I may not always do business with Ninja, but I will always shop AMAZON!. ****update****. The 2nd replacement(3rd in all) I got is still going strong. Now, Ive replaced all carpet in my home with wood besides a couple area rugs. Undoubtedly that puts less stress on a vacuum cleaner. However, I did add a star to my original review because this 3rd Shark is working like a champ..Love It!

> 24 hourIm really impressed with this vacuum! Its so quiet that my dog was curious and watched me vacuum instead of hiding under the bed. The suction is so strong, it pulled a bunch of really fine dust out of my carpet that my old vacuum missed. It also made my house feel fresh and clean instead of prompting an allergy attack. I used the included pet power brush to vacuum my cat tree. Be warned, this attachment is LOUD! My cat who has never been afraid of the vacuum took off at full speed when I turned it on. Aside from the fact that it sounds like a miter saw, it really got ALL the cat hair off my cat tree! I love the powered lift off mode for getting under my bed, but I agree with another reviewer who said the pull of the vacuum is quite aggressive in this mode. Without the weight of the canister, the brush roll is so strong that it propels itself forward, and feels significantly harder to pull back. Its more of a workout than my previous vacuum, but that doesnt bother me too much. I think it would be too strong and heavy for my mom though. It does not do well with small, loose rugs. In low carpet mode it gets stuck in the rollers, and in hard floor mode it gets stuck just from the strong suction! It does good on non-slip rugs though, so I plan to replace my other rugs with those. Overall, Im happy with the Shark Apex, my house has never felt so clean!

> 24 hourThese are all the questions I had when I looked at the Shark Apex product details, questions and reviews but did not find clear answers to. I was trying to compare it to the Dyson Animal Ball Upright. Weight = No noticeable difference between the two Easy to lift and carry between levels of the house = Shark (Shark is easier to hold on to) Power cord = Shark. Maybe a bit shorter on the Shark but, quality is better on the Shark (more flexible) Plastic parts durability = Shark (many small plastic parts on Dyson that break easily, expensive and difficult to replace. Many times, you must buy an entire assembly when you only need one small part - which is generally true for most things these days). Shark has fewer parts and seem much more durable. This is huge for me. Ease to dump the canister = Shark Ease to operate vacuum = Shark (moves easier than Dyson, Shark controls are all on the handle (one control for power and one control for a three-way selection for high carpet, low carpet, hard flooring. These controls work well) Cleaning Power (suction) = toss up (both are very good) Maintenance = Shark (was constantly cleaning hair out of the Dyson roller. Had to replace many parts on the Dyson. Some I could not figure out how to replace… and I’m an Engineer). Eventually, the Dyson canister was constantly falling off. I finally gave up and said – that’s it – we’re getting something different. Note - I havent cleaned the Shark filters yet but, I can’t imagine that process being so miserable I would go back to a Dyson. Noise = Shark (seems quieter than the Dyson to me) Meaningful features on the Shark that Dyson doesnt have) = LED Headlights, Lift away canister, Dual brushroll system. I found the headlights to be very helpful to see in dark spots. Dyson has one brushroll- it does seem to make a difference) Meaningful features on the Dyson that the Shark doesnt have = I cant think of anything meaningful here. Notes: Shark Upholstery Tool & Pet Power Brush attachment that comes with the unit is powered by air suction from the main unit when it is attached - not by an electrical motor (Dyson works the same way). The attachment holders on the Shark do not work well (attachments always fall off). Not a huge deal to me. Nice try Shark Engineers. Value = I feel the Shark Apex is great value at $389 (however I got a “limited time deal” for $249 in June 2021 - probably wont see that again). That made it a huge value for me. I will update this review if I learn something worth reporting on.

> 24 hourI gave it 4/5 because it is heavy. It has great suction and its transformer abilities work great for different applications. We have a 70lb husky who sheds a lot. It does a great job with all his hair. I have been overall very happy but it is a heavy vacuum. I think my 75 year old mom would struggle with it. Just something to keep in mind.

> 24 hourI like the suction and maneuverability of this vacuum. Its low profile lets me get under things that I could not get under with my old Dyson. It is not as wide as my old vacuum and I would have liked it to be a little wider.

> 24 hourThe main reason I bought this vacuum is because it claims to not have hair wrap. Well, it doesnt seem to work for me. I have really long hair (down to my waist) and after vacuuming a small area, I looked at the roller (see picture). Sure enough, my hair is neatly wrapped around the roller! My old vacuum (a Bissell) worked well, but I got tired of cleaning the roller all the time. Im sorry that I spent $400 on this. I would have gotten something cheaper, or just continued to use my Bissell. I gave it 3 stars because it does seem to clean well and it does pick up dog hair. I thought about returning it, but I just spent a lot of money on attachments because the reviews were so good. One review suggested letting it run for a few seconds after vacuuming. I did that and it just seems to comb the hair around the roller. I have several Shark vacuums and I like the quality, but Im very disappointed that Ill have to continue to clean the roller. Maybe I should just get my hair cut.
