> 3 dayIve had this vacuum a couple of weeks now and used it about half a dozen times. Overall, I am very happy with it - previously I had a canister vacuum but wanted to switch to an upright as long as it still had a hose and attachments for cleaning furniture and along baseboards, etc. Suction - A+!! The first time I used this on my bedroom carpet I was APPALLED at how much dirt it picked up (and knew I wasnt wrong that the old canister vac wasnt working nearly well enough). Its very powerful. Features - Overall good, like I mentioned I like that its almost a hybrid between an upright and canister vac. I really like that it has a light - great for cleaning in darker places like closets, or in the evening when the light isnt as good. It comes with a pet hair attachment that does a fantastic job at getting up the cat hair. I like that it has a switch to go between bare floors, low pile carpet and deep pile carpet. Nitpicks - There are two dings Id give this vacuum - one, the maneuverability when using it as an upright takes some getting used to because it seems a bit top heavy, especially on carpet. Second, there are a couple of spots for on-board attachments at the vacuums base, but I find that the cord often knocks off whatever attachment is housed on the left. Third, the upholstery attachment that came with mine keeps coming apart at the slightest bump. I will likely use some super glue to keep this from happening in the future, but for a vacuum at this price point I expected something a bit sturdier. Overall, though, very good and Im happy with this purchase!

> 3 dayI have had so many bad vacuums. This does not seem to be one of them. I have three people in my household with long hair that sheds onto the carpet and then normally gets stuck in previous vacuums. But this vacuum handles long human hair very well. I have not had the vacuum for a long time, so I am not sure how it will last, but here is what I have observed so far: Hair does not get stuck on the rollers - make sure you follow the directions and run the vacuum on the correct setting (bare floor) to get it to cut the hair off. For me, this was a big deal - and what I was specifically looking for in a vacuum. It seems to be amazing for cleaning hair so far. (I do not have a pet, so this review is about human hair - but it seems like it would be great for pet hair too.) I love how the vacuum swivels and turns - easy to handle. The tools - the way to attach tools to the vacuum (when not in use) does not really hold them well. It seems like the cord gets in the way of where to store the tools. They are not the easiest part of this vacuum to use either, but I am getting used to how to do it. The detachable part that you can carry around to vacuum is somewhat heavy, so it might be more difficult for things like cleaning stairs, but not unusable. I don’t use the tools very much, so I don’t care. The disposal of vacuum contents - I like that there is a handle and a way to drop the dirt out from the bottom. It seems like the dirt does not fly in my face as much as previous vacuums with the way this is made. The suction power seems great also. And all of the filters are easy to get to for cleaning or replacing.

> 3 dayI bought this to use on hard floors. It works great at sucking up dust and dust bunnies under the bed. However, it will not pick up bigger pieces off of the hard floor. Things like a dry bread crumb, a tiny piece of popcorn, or a pine needle tracked in from outside will only get pushed along. You have to disconnect the wand part and pick them up individually. The suction from the wand is great, its just not what I was hoping for. I like the novelty of how the components are all modular and are easy to take apart for different jobs. The tool stowage (crevice tool, etc.) is terrible.

> 3 daySeems well built (like a tank!), picks up seeds etc (we have birds in the dining room) off the hardwood floors no problem even on the carpet setting. Just 2 complaints, and maybe theyll be less a problem as I use it, but 1. It weighs 16 lbs.....previouse model was ~12lb. 2. the hose appears to be shorter than the previous so I cant just detach the canister & set it down while I use the wand. I have to lug the whole thing. Ill probably keep it, but will come back with an updated review after a month or so.

> 3 dayThese are all the questions I had when I looked at the Shark Apex product details, questions and reviews but did not find clear answers to. I was trying to compare it to the Dyson Animal Ball Upright. Weight = No noticeable difference between the two Easy to lift and carry between levels of the house = Shark (Shark is easier to hold on to) Power cord = Shark. Maybe a bit shorter on the Shark but, quality is better on the Shark (more flexible) Plastic parts durability = Shark (many small plastic parts on Dyson that break easily, expensive and difficult to replace. Many times, you must buy an entire assembly when you only need one small part - which is generally true for most things these days). Shark has fewer parts and seem much more durable. This is huge for me. Ease to dump the canister = Shark Ease to operate vacuum = Shark (moves easier than Dyson, Shark controls are all on the handle (one control for power and one control for a three-way selection for high carpet, low carpet, hard flooring. These controls work well) Cleaning Power (suction) = toss up (both are very good) Maintenance = Shark (was constantly cleaning hair out of the Dyson roller. Had to replace many parts on the Dyson. Some I could not figure out how to replace… and I’m an Engineer). Eventually, the Dyson canister was constantly falling off. I finally gave up and said – that’s it – we’re getting something different. Note - I havent cleaned the Shark filters yet but, I can’t imagine that process being so miserable I would go back to a Dyson. Noise = Shark (seems quieter than the Dyson to me) Meaningful features on the Shark that Dyson doesnt have) = LED Headlights, Lift away canister, Dual brushroll system. I found the headlights to be very helpful to see in dark spots. Dyson has one brushroll- it does seem to make a difference) Meaningful features on the Dyson that the Shark doesnt have = I cant think of anything meaningful here. Notes: Shark Upholstery Tool & Pet Power Brush attachment that comes with the unit is powered by air suction from the main unit when it is attached - not by an electrical motor (Dyson works the same way). The attachment holders on the Shark do not work well (attachments always fall off). Not a huge deal to me. Nice try Shark Engineers. Value = I feel the Shark Apex is great value at $389 (however I got a “limited time deal” for $249 in June 2021 - probably wont see that again). That made it a huge value for me. I will update this review if I learn something worth reporting on.

> 3 dayFor Apex DuroClean Powered Lift Away AZ1002 T4 For the last 6 years, our old Shark Vacuum worked well. A great use & selling point was the ability to reconfigure the machine for different vacuum tasks. This is done without tools with snap fittings and these still work perfectly on the old vac. The old vacuums power rotator floor head still works but the corrugated flex hose that attached to the power section failed. This part is not user replaceable. Shark wanted $118.00 plus shipping to replace the whole floor power head. Since the machine was 6 years old we decided to up grade to a new model. With a new warranty. The machine came on time and was undamaged and well packed. Since this Shark vacuum was similar to our old vacuum, I was easy to assemble. It has the same snap connections that we loved in the old machine. When first assembled the new vac would not start. Re connecting the components solved the problem but we had continuing issues with the power. After trouble shooting the vac, we found the snap connection from the power module to the hose wand was the issue. In less than two weeks ownership this snap connection became harder and harder to snap in. It appeared to us the issue might be the plastic fitting was warped or otherwise misformed. To get a good secure fit [and get connectivity and power], we had to exert a great amount of force, then push the rocker tab down to get the desired click. My wife did not have the strength to do so. The Shark vac had arrived less than 2 weeks ago. Called Shark/Ninja customer service. Did a video chat, allowing the tech to see the issue. Neither the agent nor us could really figure out why it was so hard to click connect nor which plastic part was the culprit. The tech stated she would send the wand handle section [this part has the on / off switch] but neither of us was sure this would fix the issue. Shark never offered to replace the machine. I agreed to accept the replacement I wanted to make sure the other part of the connection- the power module would be sent if this didnt solve the issue. Then I was told the replacement part would cost me $89.00 plus shipping. I refused to pay and after more conversation, the agent offered a 50% discount and finally offered to sent free it if I paid for the shipping. This on a vacuum that was taken out the box less than two weeks earlier. Take heed, the Limited warranty is not worth the paper it was printed on. Since we were still in the return window, Amazon has agreed to take the product back and has issued a label for shipping. They will also credit my account upon acceptance of the Shark Vacuum. Thank you Amazon.

Greater than one weekI’ve had this vacuum for about a month now and here’s my honest review. Little back story we have a 1500 sqft home with dark wood color LVP, two girls, and 3 dogs. We have 2 Great Pyrenees dogs and if you know about them they shed ALOT! Big clumps of furry hair. Our newest addition fur baby is a Bernese Mountain dog, different hair but lots of shedding, we got her not long after my purchase of this vacuum and I’m so happy I did. The suction power on this is amazing and unlike any other I’ve seen. It has no trouble with the big clumps of hair, or the fine bits and all the sand, oh so much sand. One of the selling features for me on this model was the two brushrolls and the self cleaning brushroll. Ive tried robot vacuums and so many other products but I spend more time cleaning out the brush rolls and detangling all the big furry clumps of dog hair than it would if I were to just sweep the floor myself. But this vacuum I’ve had it’s times where I did have to clean it out because there hair is so long, but 95% of the time since using it, the self cleaning brush roll does work! I’ve watched it detangle through the brush roll view and I’m amazed. Nothing has ever worked for all this fluff before. The ability to quickly release the wand/handle has been great to get into those hard to reach areas. Huge pro I also love is that all the suction parts have a built in light meaning thr brush roll head, the wand, handle all have a light and with my darker floors this has been great to ensure I miss no spots. The description also states that it would kinda polish your hard floors giving it a cleaner look, and yes this is also true! I’ve noticed with each pass the floor itself color is better and less dull looking. By far my favorite is the suction, if you have a busy household with large shedding dogs and your living in fur and don’t know what to do, buy this vacuum and save yourself some sanity! Best investment ever!

> 3 dayIm really impressed with this vacuum! Its so quiet that my dog was curious and watched me vacuum instead of hiding under the bed. The suction is so strong, it pulled a bunch of really fine dust out of my carpet that my old vacuum missed. It also made my house feel fresh and clean instead of prompting an allergy attack. I used the included pet power brush to vacuum my cat tree. Be warned, this attachment is LOUD! My cat who has never been afraid of the vacuum took off at full speed when I turned it on. Aside from the fact that it sounds like a miter saw, it really got ALL the cat hair off my cat tree! I love the powered lift off mode for getting under my bed, but I agree with another reviewer who said the pull of the vacuum is quite aggressive in this mode. Without the weight of the canister, the brush roll is so strong that it propels itself forward, and feels significantly harder to pull back. Its more of a workout than my previous vacuum, but that doesnt bother me too much. I think it would be too strong and heavy for my mom though. It does not do well with small, loose rugs. In low carpet mode it gets stuck in the rollers, and in hard floor mode it gets stuck just from the strong suction! It does good on non-slip rugs though, so I plan to replace my other rugs with those. Overall, Im happy with the Shark Apex, my house has never felt so clean!

> 3 dayThis is the best vacuum in every aspect! The suction is amazing! All the features will blow your mind! I have two dogs and a cat that shed like crazy and this vacuum cleans it all up. No more stopping to add an extension. All you do is click and pull to the feature you need. My daughter got one two years ago so I was able to use it at her house and I finally got one for my house this Christmas. This vacuum will not disappoint! It is pricey so I waited for a good sale. Surpasses all the other vacuums I’ve ever owned in the past 20 years. Don’t wait like I did. It is worth the money!

> 3 dayHello: I had the power cut-off problem immediately on first use and was freaking out after reading others had this happen as well. The problem seems to be fixed by moving the crevice tool from one side of the holder to the other. It was pushing the hose connection out of contact. So far this has solved the power cut-off problem. If it doesnt solve it completely, I will post again. The problem definitely is the hose connection into the tank for me FYI. Otherwise, this vacuum is amazing. It is stiff to maneuver at first, but loosens up a bit after the first use. The suction is off the charts and it cleans the wood floors beautifully. It is easy to use the different configurations to get into all the nooks and crannies. My favorite configuration is holding the tank and disconnecting the long wand from the base to do the stairs or get into difficult places. I can see how this vacuum would be hard to use for someone shorter or older with less upper-body strength. I am 56 and in shape and it can be hard to move around some objects as the handle is very long and the tank a bit heavy.
