Greater than one weekI like my sharp. I love the fact it cleans carpet and hardwood/ linoleum. The suction could be a little more powerful but its agility and ability to separate from the base makes up for it. I havent used it for my dog yet but with the air filter I can tell the difference just after cleaning a room.

> 3 dayThe Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is a powerful and versatile cleaning machine that delivers exceptional results. It features a DuoClean system that combines a bristle brush with a soft roller to pick up both large and small debris, and a self-cleaning brush roll that removes hair and other tangled items, ensuring that the vacuum is always in optimal condition. The Apex Powered Lift-Away design is a unique feature that allows the user to easily detach the canister from the vacuum and clean hard-to-reach areas, such as stairs and tight spaces. It is also a very lightweight vacuum, making it easy to move around and use for extended periods without fatigue. The Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum is incredibly powerful, with a motor that delivers exceptional suction power, making it ideal for cleaning carpets, hardwood floors, and other surfaces. It also features an anti-allergen seal that traps 99.9% of dust and allergens, ensuring that the air in your home is cleaner and healthier. Another feature that I appreciate is the LED headlights, which make it easy to see and clean even in dimly lit areas. The vacuum also comes with a variety of attachments, including a crevice tool, upholstery tool, and dusting brush, making it a versatile cleaning machine that can be used for a wide range of cleaning tasks. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the Shark AZ1002 Apex Powered Lift-Away Upright Vacuum. It is a powerful, versatile, and easy-to-use vacuum that delivers exceptional results. If youre looking for a high-quality vacuum that can handle all of your cleaning needs, this product is definitely worth considering.

Greater than one weekIve been a loyal Dyson owner for 11 years now, but when the thing lost suction due to a tear in the hose, I needed to decide if I should buy another hose (which I just replaced about a year ago), or a new vacuum. After doing some research, and reading a lot of reviews, the decision became clear. Im typically brand loyal, but was really impressed with what I was reading from Dyson owners switching over to Shark, therefore, I decided to take the plunge. I vacuumed one last time with my trusty Dyson on Sunday, and received the Shark on Tuesday. It was easy to assemble, and the lift-away feature is amazing. With my Dyson I need to pull the hose to the top of the stairs since the dang thing was so heavy. But with the Shark, cleaning stairs is a breeze. I did some very light vacuuming, because like I said, I had already vacuumed on the other day, but I was very impressed with how much the Shark sucked up that the Dyson had left behind (see the attached photo). I guess my only regret is that I didnt do the switch sooner.

> 3 dayI bought this vacuum shortly after moving into my new apartment. Ill admit, I may be overcompensating due to the size of my apartment since its not very big. But nonetheless, I have been familiar with Shark Vacuums for as long as I can remember. My mother is a House Cleaner by occupation and Shark has always been her choice of vacuums. Im not one to be usually excited or impressed by a vacuums performance or vacuums in general, but this one I am definitely satisfied with. The one feature about it that I havent really experienced with vacuums all that much is the illuminated front lights. I literally clean my place in the dark now, and it REVEALS ALL. Every little spec of dust, piece of dirt, hair, any thing that cant be seen due to ceiling lights masking its presence. Nothing can hide. And its awesome. Another thing that caught my attention was the Advanced Anti-Allergen Complete Seal and HEPA filter. It literally smells as if the vacuum is renewing or cleaning the air. Its honestly really nice. The lift away feature is definitely great. Didnt realise how useful it was until needed. When everything is attached to the base the vacuum is a little bulkier that other stick vacuums or lower profile ones. So fitting in tight spot are limited when using the main brush roll. Speaking of brush roll. A feature that I think all vacuums should have that this one does is brush roll access. Two latches on each side of the vacuums head opens up the top like popping the hood of your car. Doing a little preventative maintenance once in a while I would imagine help make the vacuums life space run longer. Felt that was a pretty cool feature. I really like this vacuum. I am by no means testing its limits since my environment isnt that extreme or requires cleaning up all that more (be it dirt/sand or absurd levels or pet hair). But just as a whole it works and feels like a great vacuum.

> 3 dayThis vacuum is great. Extremely powerful, easy to use and great functionality. This is my second shark vacuum and I will never buy anything else. The performance is second to none. I literally just got done vacuuming with a Dyson that I borrowed, and then used my new shark. It literally filled up the entire can. I love these vacuums.

> 3 dayI gave it 4/5 because it is heavy. It has great suction and its transformer abilities work great for different applications. We have a 70lb husky who sheds a lot. It does a great job with all his hair. I have been overall very happy but it is a heavy vacuum. I think my 75 year old mom would struggle with it. Just something to keep in mind.

> 3 dayThese are all the questions I had when I looked at the Shark Apex product details, questions and reviews but did not find clear answers to. I was trying to compare it to the Dyson Animal Ball Upright. Weight = No noticeable difference between the two Easy to lift and carry between levels of the house = Shark (Shark is easier to hold on to) Power cord = Shark. Maybe a bit shorter on the Shark but, quality is better on the Shark (more flexible) Plastic parts durability = Shark (many small plastic parts on Dyson that break easily, expensive and difficult to replace. Many times, you must buy an entire assembly when you only need one small part - which is generally true for most things these days). Shark has fewer parts and seem much more durable. This is huge for me. Ease to dump the canister = Shark Ease to operate vacuum = Shark (moves easier than Dyson, Shark controls are all on the handle (one control for power and one control for a three-way selection for high carpet, low carpet, hard flooring. These controls work well) Cleaning Power (suction) = toss up (both are very good) Maintenance = Shark (was constantly cleaning hair out of the Dyson roller. Had to replace many parts on the Dyson. Some I could not figure out how to replace… and I’m an Engineer). Eventually, the Dyson canister was constantly falling off. I finally gave up and said – that’s it – we’re getting something different. Note - I havent cleaned the Shark filters yet but, I can’t imagine that process being so miserable I would go back to a Dyson. Noise = Shark (seems quieter than the Dyson to me) Meaningful features on the Shark that Dyson doesnt have) = LED Headlights, Lift away canister, Dual brushroll system. I found the headlights to be very helpful to see in dark spots. Dyson has one brushroll- it does seem to make a difference) Meaningful features on the Dyson that the Shark doesnt have = I cant think of anything meaningful here. Notes: Shark Upholstery Tool & Pet Power Brush attachment that comes with the unit is powered by air suction from the main unit when it is attached - not by an electrical motor (Dyson works the same way). The attachment holders on the Shark do not work well (attachments always fall off). Not a huge deal to me. Nice try Shark Engineers. Value = I feel the Shark Apex is great value at $389 (however I got a “limited time deal” for $249 in June 2021 - probably wont see that again). That made it a huge value for me. I will update this review if I learn something worth reporting on.
