I’ve had this vacuum for about a month now and here’s my honest review. Little back story we have a 1500 sqft home with dark wood color LVP, two girls, and 3 dogs. We have 2 Great Pyrenees dogs and if you know about them they shed ALOT! Big clumps of furry hair. Our newest addition fur baby is a Bernese Mountain dog, different hair but lots of shedding, we got her not long after my purchase of this vacuum and I’m so happy I did. The suction power on this is amazing and unlike any other I’ve seen. It has no trouble with the big clumps of hair, or the fine bits and all the sand, oh so much sand. One of the selling features for me on this model was the two brushrolls and the self cleaning brushroll. Ive tried robot vacuums and so many other products but I spend more time cleaning out the brush rolls and detangling all the big furry clumps of dog hair than it would if I were to just sweep the floor myself. But this vacuum I’ve had it’s times where I did have to clean it out because there hair is so long, but 95% of the time since using it, the self cleaning brush roll does work! I’ve watched it detangle through the brush roll view and I’m amazed. Nothing has ever worked for all this fluff before. The ability to quickly release the wand/handle has been great to get into those hard to reach areas. Huge pro I also love is that all the suction parts have a built in light meaning thr brush roll head, the wand, handle all have a light and with my darker floors this has been great to ensure I miss no spots. The description also states that it would kinda polish your hard floors giving it a cleaner look, and yes this is also true! I’ve noticed with each pass the floor itself color is better and less dull looking. By far my favorite is the suction, if you have a busy household with large shedding dogs and your living in fur and don’t know what to do, buy this vacuum and save yourself some sanity! Best investment ever!

    Greater than one week

The suction is of the charts strong, it picked up alot of what my old vacuum apparently wasnt getting. The cord is super long which is a big thing with me. It is really easy to switch from one attachment to the other. And cleaning it is as well.

I love shark products but this one is not any improvement from the last model. Holding dirt capacity is half of what the one I bought in 2018 Features are very similar, the quality in my book has changed. Not east to vacuum with. It won’t go straight it cuts to the right. I recommended one to a friend and they have the same complaints

I just happened to see someone on Facebook asking about vacuums for pet hair. Something like 80% of the responses were suggesting this specific model vacuum. I was already in need of a new vacuum so Im glad I saw that post and completed the subsequent research and review reading. I knew my Walmart bought Bissel was not getting the job done. My carpet cleaner would pull up wet globs of hair every couple feet! After vacuuming! The day I received this Shark Apex I vacuum my bedroom floor with the old Bissel. Having a black cat and a Rottweiler there was plenty of fine black hair in my carpets. Especially beside my bed where my Rottweiler faithfully sleeps at night. After Bissel did its best I gave the Shark Apex a shot. Im not exaggerating at all when I tell you I had to empty its collection bin two times. It was literally full of dog hair. Full, tightly packed with dog hair. It was absolutely disgusting to realize how much hair my Bissel vacuum had been missing the last couple years. My carpet changed color. And I can say that after vacuuming my bedroom, hallway, hardwood floors (instead of sweeping) and sucking up a dozen collection bins worth of pet hair since purchasing this vacuum... the Zero-M technology has still kept the roller brush clean. After vacuuming my sons bedroom today I laid down the vacuum today and my 11 year old son immediately exclaimed, Theres no hair in it! when he bent down to look at the roller brush. Even my 11 year old was shocked. The little rubber flaps they call Zero-M Technology actually work pretty well. Its not amazing for stairs though. Id love to rip the carpet off my stairs and go to wood treads. Vacuuming stairs is never fun, and this vacuum doesnt solve that issue. Even taking the collection bin and motor off in hand held mode vacuuming the stairs is still a pain in the butt. Especially since this vacuum does self propel itself with the brush. That is great throughout the house, but not on stairs. It does a great job on hard floors though. I used it today for the first time on my hard wood floors. It does NOT scatter debris like most vacuum cleaners do on hard surfaces. That said, I likely wont use it on my wood floors very much. Ive seen videos online showing that the tiny rollers underneath tend to break apart over time. And since I can hear those rollers on my wood floor Im concerned theyll wear down and eventually begin scratching the floors (I mean, if my Rottweiler hasnt yet this vacuum probably wont either, right?).

This is a beast of a vacuum! It is super at inhaling hair and debris from the edges of baseboards. When you switch from hard floor to carpet, you feel the brush kick on and it pulls you forward. It is very well made and worth the money!

I upgraded my Shark Navigator True Pet to the Apex and I love the new rollers. They stay hair free for a while and are very easy to get to when I have to clean them. One of the rollers is kinda fuzzy and its perfect for hard floors because it actually sweeps up the dust that other vacuums cant pick up because its technically not debris. My only issue is that its not a smooth ride. My forearms get quite a workout pushing this thing around. The swivel is not as easy as my last two sharks.

We had a Dyson that was on its last leg. It was only 6 yrs old and had been to the vac dr. Lol I wish I had a video unboxing the Shark! My son and I opened it. He said…umm where’s the vacuum? We assembled it and I went to town vacuuming! It was GREAT!!!! You won’t be disappointed. There are three settings. For the wood/tile surface, the roller basically dusts as it vacuums and eliminates that hue on dark wood floors! It was my nemesis!!! This is huge! The middle setting is for low pile carpet/rug. For this one, LOW! Pile (almost an indoor outdoor pile rug), the vac almost drives itself! It takes off. We have two dogs and one sheds like crazy!!!! I had vacuumed with the Dyson before hand. Well…the Shark pulled so much junk out of my rugs!! Dirt/hair/dander/super fine dust! The third setting is the high pile. We have a crazy shag rug. It’s super high! While it doesn’t drive itself, the Shark is able to handle the rug! I think this rug is what killed the Dyson. Whoops. Love the light on the front. The ability to remove the canister and make it mobile! Ease of vacuuming under furniture! No more moving my couches out. I can vacuum everywhere now! The suction is so strong I’m always sucking up dog toys! So be careful there. It does a great job vacuuming furniture. The cord is plenty long! Love you can clean the filters. I could seriously keep going. Lol my entire family LOVES it! The only negative I can say is the bin is on the smaller side. But that is definitely not a deal breaker. Enjoy your new toy!

For Apex DuroClean Powered Lift Away AZ1002 T4 For the last 6 years, our old Shark Vacuum worked well. A great use & selling point was the ability to reconfigure the machine for different vacuum tasks. This is done without tools with snap fittings and these still work perfectly on the old vac. The old vacuums power rotator floor head still works but the corrugated flex hose that attached to the power section failed. This part is not user replaceable. Shark wanted $118.00 plus shipping to replace the whole floor power head. Since the machine was 6 years old we decided to up grade to a new model. With a new warranty. The machine came on time and was undamaged and well packed. Since this Shark vacuum was similar to our old vacuum, I was easy to assemble. It has the same snap connections that we loved in the old machine. When first assembled the new vac would not start. Re connecting the components solved the problem but we had continuing issues with the power. After trouble shooting the vac, we found the snap connection from the power module to the hose wand was the issue. In less than two weeks ownership this snap connection became harder and harder to snap in. It appeared to us the issue might be the plastic fitting was warped or otherwise misformed. To get a good secure fit [and get connectivity and power], we had to exert a great amount of force, then push the rocker tab down to get the desired click. My wife did not have the strength to do so. The Shark vac had arrived less than 2 weeks ago. Called Shark/Ninja customer service. Did a video chat, allowing the tech to see the issue. Neither the agent nor us could really figure out why it was so hard to click connect nor which plastic part was the culprit. The tech stated she would send the wand handle section [this part has the on / off switch] but neither of us was sure this would fix the issue. Shark never offered to replace the machine. I agreed to accept the replacement I wanted to make sure the other part of the connection- the power module would be sent if this didnt solve the issue. Then I was told the replacement part would cost me $89.00 plus shipping. I refused to pay and after more conversation, the agent offered a 50% discount and finally offered to sent free it if I paid for the shipping. This on a vacuum that was taken out the box less than two weeks earlier. Take heed, the Limited warranty is not worth the paper it was printed on. Since we were still in the return window, Amazon has agreed to take the product back and has issued a label for shipping. They will also credit my account upon acceptance of the Shark Vacuum. Thank you Amazon.

This vacuum is really awesome. I would love to give it 5 stars for how easy and useful it is to use, however the wand started going out on me after 3 years of using this machine. It was unfortunately not covered under the warranty, and costs another $40 to replace from the company. (I guess its a pretty common issue according to the internet). If I didnt have an issue with that I would have given it a 5 star review.

Have 2 yes 2 Australia shepherd’s. Lots of hair. This vacuum sucked it all up. Loved the dust bin. Easy to clean n wash. Loved the different ways you can detach it. BUT. It stopped working. I suspect the cord. It seemed cheap. I guess I play electrician or buy a new one, which I would buy again.

The Shark APEX full-sized upright vacuum delivers an incredible cleaning experience in a full-sized upright. Powered Lift-Away gives you the ability to detach the pod and clean under furniture and above-floor areas with the push of a button. The self-cleaning brushroll delivers nonstop hair removal. The LED lights on the handle and floor nozzle provide visibility in dark spaces, spotlighting hidden debris. With Advanced Anti-Allergen Complete Seal, dust and allergens are trapped inside the vacuum.
