This was my first stick vacuum purchase and so far everything works great. Suction is strong, unit is well-made and simple to maneuver, and all the parts click into place easily. Vacuuming, which was previously one of my least favorite chores, is now kind of enjoyable. I’ve gone about 20 mins so far and haven’t had to recharge.

As a former Dyson owner we felt the need to try Shark because so many speak very highly. This model feels heavier than our Dyson V7 Animal, we did feel like it glides better on the carpet tho. I dislike the slide button to switch from bare floor to carpet, can’t do it all with one hand. Seems to hold a charge very well, but only two weeks in. Definitely lasts longer than our Dyson. My husband prefers the way you empty the Dyson dirt canister but I admit neither is ideal. Overall we gave it 4 stars, it does what it’s intended for, and the price is not as hard on the wallet as a Dyson.

I love the vacuum, but two of the attachements were missing, and one of the ones I received is not listed as included.

I’m 75 years old and have owned more vacuum cleaners than I care to think about. I purchased another brand cordless vacuum stick last month and really liked it until it died after just a few weeks… Researching for a replacement with better reliability, I found this wonderful Shark Vacuum Stick…. My initial impression was that it’s a bit heavy and slightly clunky compared to the Samsung model I just returned, but after using this baby a few times I love it. It’s AWESOME! This Shark does a great job cleaning my dark brown bamboo floors and the area rugs in my 3000 square foot house without recharging. The Samsung had to recharge after about 1500 sq Ft. Emptying the large dirt bin isn’t an unpleasant experience, and after releasing the motor/canister from the stick I was impressed with how easy disassembly and reassembly went… At my age, dust on baseboards and chair rails, as well as some dirt in corners and other hard to reach areas has become the norm. My Roomba and the corded uprights just couldn’t get those hard to reach areas on the floors, and it’s just too hard on my knees and back to crawl around more than a few times each year. I found accessories on all upright cleaners too awkward and difficult to use…. but I was inspired by the Shark’s light weight and gave it a try… All I can say is WOW! Baseboards, corners and close to furniture and cabinets are now spotless! My house hasn’t been this clean in a long time… Best of all, I’m not exhausted from the task. LOVE my Shark cordless stick vacuum!!! Time will tell about long-term reliability and battery life. Some good news I found in my research… the replacement battery cost for the Shark is about half the cost of a Samsung battery. Next time this vacuum goes on sale I’ll be buying several as presents for friends and family! My advice is buy two or three of these…. One for yourself and one for your elderly parents/grandparents… they’ll love it and thank you for it! UPDATE**** Still going strong at about 4 months use. I ordered an extra battery, which is easily swapped out. Just push a button and the battery releases. I was given two Dyson V6 cordless vacuums by a neighbor who isn’t very mechanically inclined … The Dyson isn’t the latest model, but a comparison: After ordering aftermarket batteries, it was easy to remove a few screws and replace the originals. The Shark is quieter, easier to use, and definitely easier to swap a spare battery. The Dyson is a bit prettier, and may have slightly more suction, although it’s only a one speed suction. Both will get the job done. If you want to impress someone else, get a Dyson. If you want a better all around machine at a good price, get the Shark.

The vacuum is great! Suction is excellent and I love the new silicone paddles instead of the brush. Love going cordless! However ..... the placement of the heavy battery at the top of the stick is not great. Its too heavy for maneuvering and to hold up for 30 minutes. The head wont fit under any of my bottom kitchen cupboards so I end up sweeping anyways. ( the reasons for a 4 rating) Cost was a little too high to have these things to deal with.

I have had an oreck vacuum for years and years. I love it for its cleaning power. BUT its loud and heavy. And you have to get it serviced every 2 years. Of course that may be the reason Ive had it for year and years. Plus did I mention that its loud. We live in a 2 story house now and I wanted a lightweight vacuum that I could easily lug up and down the stairs. Thus I thought Id try the shark. Overall, its extremely lightweight and maneuverable. I love that its also a reasonable decibel when you turn it on. The battery (I have the 50 min one) seems to last for me to do most of my downstairs (2000sq ft) as long as I am efficient. Its cleaning power, however, is not ideal. Anything over basic dust and dirt just gets pushed around. With kids in the house, this mean tiny pieces of paper or leaves or grass or pencil erasers or lego pieces, just get pushed around. I think this vacuum is better designated as a sweeper than a true vacuum. Its fine for when the dog drags in dirt oo the kids soccer cleats drop something, but as the way to clean my entire floor - not so much. And on carpets, again its more a sweeper than a vacuum to clean. Im pretty disappointed b/c now I have 3 vacuums to deal with and store and I had been hoping this purchase would consolidate. Guess its time to take the Oreck to be serviced again since Im not getting rid of it any time soon.

So far I really enjoy this product, however the box shipped was not what was advertised. The Pet Multi Tool and Anti Allergen brush were not included in the box. I have been in touch with Shark customer service about the false advertising on this site. Hopefully they will send the missing parts.

After using it for the first time for about 10 minutes, I was amazed at how much dirt it suctioned up! I never knew my carpets were so dirty :-)

This shark attempts to copy the Dyson in many areas. Some things are ok and others not so great. This is a pet vacuum to begin. See the attached pic of the two front rollers jammed with hair. Brilliant, the roller bar doesnt get hair stuck but the wheels that help it roll get jammed?! This happens day one not months into cleaning. Not so well thought out. This needs to be redesigned and recall the current vacuum head. That aside everything else is fine except suction could be better. The standard setting is weakish while the full power mode works pretty well but zaps the battery pretty quick. Ohh and no tool storage means youll be trying to figure that out next. The vacuum is ok if its on super sale and I mean way less than its Dyson rival. I would probably have returned it if I kept the box and spent more on the Dyson. I have a plug Dyson ball and zero issues. So after reading this if you purchase, just keep the box so if it doesnt work out send it back in the return window. The vacuum does work and if it could overcome these few things it would be a really good vacuum. But as is be aware. **** update: 3 months owning this. Bought a dyson. Still own the shark, but it’s now just a crevice vac. Pet hair messes up the rollers and leaves big lines in the carpet. The rollers can be cleaned sort of by ripping them out. But so often?? We’ll see how the newest dyson stick does. This didn’t cut it. ****

I bought this hoping to make it my upstairs (fully carpeted) Cordless vacuum because my dyson either needs a new battery or I need to replace it. When I got it I decided to test drive it downstairs which is all hardwood with area rugs. I ran it over my main area rug which is just a normal thickness (not thin but not shaggy). It did pick up dog fur but there was NO dirt in the canister. Normally when I use my cordless dyson on this rug I have to empty it twice and its full of both dirt and fur. This shark just had fur. I filled it up TWICE and then ran my dyson over it and the dyson picked up all the dirt the shark left behind. Where this vacuum shines imo is on hardwood. My dyson doesnt have a hardwood safe roller head I would need to buy one. But the shark has a hardwood mode. Its so much nicer to just run the vacuum over the whole downstairs than try and sweep. For what its worth a couple of my rugs are the very thin type and I do get some dirt in the canister on my thin rugs but absolutely none on regular thickness carpet.
