I was pleasantly surprised that I can control the plugs with the app remotely. Setup was pretty easy and once it is setup it is maintenance free. Only drawback is that the size is pretty big and kind of difficult to use two next to each other on a power strip. I just use the timer function and cannot comment on other features.

These were harder to setup than a other brand than I have.

I dont like how the plugs keep losing the internet connection then I have to press button on side of plug to reconnect. Most of the time this doesnt work. One plug didnt work at all and I asked for a replacement. Instead they sent me an entire box of plugs, 4. Even after I returned the 1 defective plug, I got charged for the replacement plugs. I didnt ask for 4 plugs to replace 1 plug. Not very happy with how this was handled. If you can keep the internet connection with the plugs they do work with Alexa.

These smart outlets are easy to set up, have a plethora of features through the Smart Life app (Available in both the App Store and Google Play), and can be forgotten through automation once theyre prepared for use. Not to mention the voice-activated ease of use once integrated with Alexa or Google Home Assistant. I had never owned a smart outlet and honestly didnt feel like I needed one until purchasing these outlets. I am now a firm believer in the fun and ease of automating many daily tasks that would otherwise be cumbersome or would require you to perform a repeated action (that can easily be overlooked or forgotten). There is a multitude of ways to control your devices, lights or appliances through a simple on/off procedure and when you couple this with Alexa, Google Assistant or even Siri integration it takes smart outlet convenience to the next level. For example, imagine you go on a trip and youre leaving your pet at home in a hot area of your house and you dont want them to get overheated while youre gone. If you dont have central air conditioning, you can plug either a window air conditioner or a fan into this smart outlet. In the Smart Life app, you can set up automation to have the fan or window air conditioner to turn on when the outside temperature reaches a certain level. Then, when the outside air temperature falls back to a certain degree level, just set up another automation to have the outlet turn off. Its as easy as that, and your pet will stay nice and comfortable and you can focus on your vacation and not worry about the comfort of your pet back home. Same way with the lights, no more old-school timers for lighting. Just set up a schedule for when you want the outlets to come on or off. Want to change the lighting schedule while youre traveling, no problem. Some very unique uses of the outlets can be to perform an action in places you only visit on occasion, like a cabin or second home. You can have a heater, fan, or a/c unit turn on a couple of hours before you arrive so its nice and comfortable when you walk in the door. Turn on the lights just minutes before you pull up so youre not navigating in the dark while carrying your bags. Do you or your kids tend to leave small appliances on? For example, have the outlet the hair curling iron is plugged into turn off automatically after you leave the house for work or school reducing the risk of a fire. Along these same lines, what about having your hair curling iron pre-heat just minutes before you get into the bathroom to use it so you dont have to wait for it to be ready! Want to have an Internet-Free day for you or your family? Just plug your wireless router into the smart outlet and set up a schedule to have it turn off. Better yet, just ask Alexa or Google to turn it off for you if you decide on the spot to take a break from being online. I could go on and on about specific applications for these outlets but read below for my pros/cons on the Design, Setup and Use of these smart outlets. DESIGN Pros - I enjoy the look and feel of the round plugs - A small, blue LED in the front to indicate whether the outlet is on or off (And to assist with outlet setup) - The on/off button on the side is a great idea to control the outlet even when you dont have access to the app Cons -The circular shape looks good, but when you plug it in, it does take up a lot of space, especially when using it on a power strip. It can actually take up 3 outlet receptacles on a power strip. (Reason for the 4-star review) -The outlet could be a bit thinner, that would be even better for using behind desks, dressers or other hard-to-reach areas. - Could use a spot on the back for labeling (There is no way to identify which outlet is which when unplugged) SETUP/USE Pros - Smart Life app was very easy to install on my iPhone - Alexa integration was seamless - very easy to do and a lot of fun to play with in controlling the outlets - Love the variations with controlling the outlets with the Smart Life App - The Automation feature is fantastic! I have a window air conditioner and I cant wait to try out using automation to turn on my air conditioner once the outside temperature reaches a certain degree level. The Scene feature is nice for quick homepage buttons. Very easy-to-read view of outlets on the home screen of the app. - IFTTT integration went pretty well - I always enjoy the versatility of using anything on this platform. Kudos for having it work with them! - Superb idea for being able to not only choose the location of the plugs but give each of them a custom name through the Smart Life app. - Love the Siri integration with the Smart Life! - Can give access to other family members for particular outlets, which is a huge plus depending on what devices and what rooms you want to control. - Great for use with appliances or devices that need to be plugged in behind furniture or in hard-to-reach areas. Just turn them off/on with your voice or the Smart Life app - no more fumbling around with trying to get to the outlet to unplug a simple light. - Great to use with tools/devices that need charging but you dont want them drawing electricity constantly and damaging the battery or just drawing extra power that will run up your utility bill. Cons - The voice-activated feature on the app is so-so. Sometimes it would understand me and sometimes it didnt. I would imagine for those people who have an accent it may not understand much of anything. - When I would unplug one of the outlets and plug them back in, sometimes the app would not recognize they were back online until I closed out the app and restarted it. - Wireless coverage needs to be strong for the outlets to work properly. A couple of areas of my house have weaker WiFi, and I can still run a smart TV in those areas, but for some reason, I could not get the plugs to initiate and connect to the network. - Regarding setup - it was pretty confusing to know to choose the correct outlet option in the app - The written instructions - text is very small (They do provide helpful tutorials in the Smart Life App) - If you unplug the outlets, its easy to get them confused with one another, without labeling them in some way. SUMMARY Overall, I really like these smart outlets. I have two of them controlling my dehumidifiers. I was able to get rid of old school outlet timers with these. In summary, the setup is fairly easy (except a few hiccups with the Smart life app, but once theyre set up they are very easy to use, especially with Alexa or Google Home, assuming the WiFi signals are strong enough to support it. If youve been on the fence about smart outlets, be on the fence no more and pick up the 4-pack so you can enjoy a more automated home, office, or cabin.

I put this in my mother’s home while she was going to be away for a while. At first they were great. I live and hour away and was able to turn light on and off to give the appearance that she was still home. But only after a month they stopped working and when we tried to redo them ( we thought maybe the power or wifi went off and messed them up). This did not work. Then when I wanted to return them it was too late to get a refund. Frustrating!!

THIS IS HOW YOU PAIR WITH ALEXA: You have to download the Cloud Intelligence app and you must have the Alexa app. Put the device in pairing mode by holding the button for 5 seconds until it starts blinking. Using the Cloud Intelligence app, select add a device or use the auto find feature. You must have a 2.4g wifi signal for it to pair and you must input your wifi password. You must also allow permissions for Bluetooth and precise location while using the app. Once the device is found, edit the device and rename it whatever you want. Then Open the Alexa app. You must be logged into BOTH accounts. Using the Cloud Intelligence app, go to the profile tab, select More Services and youll see amazon alexa and google assistant. Select amazon alexa, select Bind Account and your phone will open your Alexa app and it will attempt to link the two apps/accounts together. This opens a web page and will either be successful or not. Your Alexa app will get a notification saying its been paired, and your alexa may even audibly tell you that it found new devices, with the names you gave the devices if you edited the names in the Cloud Intelligence app. TEST TO SEE IF WORKING AND THEN DELETE THIS INVASE DATA STEALING APP. It is granted permissions to your search history, photo library, exact location, all your bluetooth and wifi info. Plugs work great but the amount of info it requires to install is downright unacceptable

This is a 2-part review. Original review is toward the end, latest review is immediately below: I decided to repurchase this item since the one I first purchased a year ago worked so well. This version of the product has been misrepresented to customers to be compatible with the SmartLife App, including throughout the item description and instructions on the product listing. THIS VERSION IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE SMARTLIFE APP! This apparently different or new version of the device is only compatible with the Cloud Intelligence App. As a longtime smart home device user, I have managed to keep all my devices linked to a small variety of apps (Sengled Home and SmartLife, and my surveillance camera app.) downloading yet another app to control a device I purposely chose based on it’s (erroneously) stated compatibility with the apps I already use is hogwash. These plugs (4 pack, model YX-WS01) will be returned and a complaint filed with amazon for the seller misrepresenting the product. Since Esicoo seems to have chosen another app to work with their products, I’ll be paying more for Teckin brand, since they are equally reliable and haven’t pulled a bait and switch scam on me. Original review for SmartLife App-Compatible version of this item below: Great smart outlets, affordable and excellent function overall. With all the different apps required to control the different smart outlets on the market, I’ve managed to only use those that connect via the SmartLife app. These paired perfectly, on the first try. The instructions are easy to follow, and the outlets work very well. These are definitely worth the buy, especially if you already have others connected to the SmartLife app.

Im using these to control the light and heat panels to my chicken house. I let them out in the day even in freezing weather so theres no sense in heating an open coop. So the heat comes on only when needed. Lights as well go off after a while so they can rest in winter without constant light. It also comes on at the same time signaling bedtime and they usually return to the coop voluntarily. I also can control it via the app remotely if I feel its super cold I cant turn the heat on from the house to allow them a warmer space to wait out the rain or what have you. I will surely find other uses as well, perhaps for pond features, turning them off at night to conserve energy, etc. Or in place of dusk to dawn feature with shed lighting that needs plugging in. Very impressed with the ease of the app set up and responsiveness of the devices. You can rename them to keep them straight. Not sure the hack ability but I figure hackers messing by with my chickens lights is the least of my concerns. Edit 8/6/22: removing a star only because these things are NOT every efficient. Were off grid so we were using these to turn lights on and off on a schedule for fowl and fans for hen houses, they burn too much energy just trying to stay connected to the WiFi. They are great for common houses attached to a grid that can just burn electricity all day and night, but they drain out batteries even when nothing is in use because the plug itself uses a electricity. A little disappointing but thats tech for you. I need something more basic that can run with little electrical use that wont drain my batteries before weve had a chance to use them for their intended purpose.
